I had a tummy tuck in June. I was out on state disability for 10 weeks. I had to have a scar revision in nov along with breast reduction and lift and I got state disability then as well. Good luck to you

Ok, can we make this happen?  I hiked Quicksilver last weekend and thought I would die, but I didn't, and after I felt great.  Mario, you asked about Wednesdays.  I can make that work, but I'm not sure I can do it too late since it gets dark.  Mornings, maybe.

Anyone?

Hi Sandra,

I actually just had my bypass done by Dr. Leport this past Novemeber, and it was a fantastic experience. As long as you stick with what they tell you to do, you will be successful too.

I'm down about 80lbs so far and it's not even 3 months yet, but that's because I also work out and stick to eating right. I hope you consider Dr. Leport's practice and best of luck in the future!

Best,

Phillip

Topic: TUMMY TUCK QUALIFY FOR FMLA OR STD

I had a tummy truck after 130 lbs weight loss. The procedure was elective but corrective due to the amount of excess skin I had from lapband surgery.

I had an extended tummy tuck surgery done 1/17 and returned to work 1/28/ I exhausted 7 days PTO I had on books. I was told 10 days should be sufficient to return to a desk job and its not.!  I am still in pain and very uncomfortable. Also I ve has severe swelling and devloped a nasty seroma which has required me to get a drain tube put back in me which is nasty inconvienet to drain and bruns constantly.  Also on of the last drain tube wounds is now infected which burns like crazy. Plus I am numb below that I have "accidents" often because I cant tell I have no bladder control anymore. I cant tell i have to pee until I am ready to pee and there is no holding it. Sitting in a desk chair 8 hours a day is incredibly uncomfortable and adds extra pressure and swelling to my stomach  which is already swollen, tender and sore. I walk like a hunch back  and am just in pain still. I cant take NSAIDS only tylenol which is not cutting it.

I didnt inform my employer of my surgery as it was private. I just took PTO. Now that I am back, I told my employer about the surgery since they asked why I am walking like a hunchback, rather grumpy and I ve had to schedule additional appointments for seroma treatment.  They recommended FMLA. I wasnt aware FMLA would apply for an elected procedure. My HR dept gave me 25 pages of ppwk to fill out including a HIPPA release.

Before I fill this out, will FMLA cover a tummy tuck?  And is it legal to ask for a HIPPA?

any info is helpful...

thanks
