Hello CA Members. It's meeting time again for East Bay Bariatric:
Date: Saturday, April 20
Times: Pre-op & Newbies Q&A from 2-2:30 p.m. / Everyone from 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Location: Alameda Hospital, Conf. Room C, 2070 Clinton Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501 (enter through sliding doors to the right of the ER)
East Bay Bariatric is an independent, peer support group with hundreds of members throughout the bay area and from many surgery types and medical groups. We've been meeting for 12 years now...still hard to believe.
At this month's meeting, we'll have samples from DietDirect.com (hot chocolate and protein bars). We'll end the conversation a bit early to have a Tasting Party of these products. If you can bring some hot pots, bottled water and/or cups for the tasting, e-mail me at [email protected]. I could use the help; thanks in advance. Small paper plates for the protein bars will be helpful too. Note: we received these products because members purchased items either when entering our promo code, 6214285, or clicked on the DietDirect banner on our website and then placed an order. For those of you that did that: THANK YOU!
See you at the meeting. Let me know if you have any questions about the group. We meet the 3rd Saturday of every month. No need to register; just show up. Meetings are free and it doesn't matter whether or not you have insurance. It's just us patients.

What a helpful suggestion. I will cut & paste and share. Thank you! I had no idea he was at John Muir too; wonder if she knows.

Hi Everyone!
On May 4, 2013, members of the San Francisco/Bay Area WLS Meetup Group will be participating in the Brain Tumor 5K Walk in Golden Gate Park. We would like to extend the invitation to all WLS'ers in the Bay Area!
This will be a great way to get some exercise, enjoy the great outdoors, and meet some new friends... all while supporting a great cause!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Please follow this link for additional information and to register: http://www.braintumorcommunity.org/site/PageServer?pagename= BTW_SF_Homepage
Participants are registering individually (not as a team) and the cost is $25 (gets you a t-shirt, breakfast, and other race goodies). During the registration process, you are asked to raise money for the race, but you are not obligated to do so.
Registration starts at 9:00AM and the walk begins at 10:00AM. Our group will meet at 9:30am at the registration tent.
*Please Note* This is not a competitive race! You will not be timed and you are not required to walk the entire course. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to join.
For additional info please visit the organizers website (above) or contact Tara Griffith @ [email protected]
He is now the head of the WLS program for John Muir. He runs a class once per month. She should show up and ask him directly. Go to John Muir's website and look up the time date for his next class.

If It was me, I personally show up at his office with a copy of my receipt for the lifetime care if I had it, sign in, and wait in his waiting room until somebody spoke to me. Most of the time that works. They have to tend to you if you walk in and sign in. If that didn't work i would snap a photo of the sign in sheet and use the words "patient abandonment" with the receptionist. That usually works. If it doesn't I would get proof that I was in his office seeking care, and file a grievance to whoever is granting his license. and to my insurance company, and see another doctor. Hopefully just walking in to the office should do the trick. Bring a book...expect to wait most of the day.
Saw a friend over the weekend who had a lap-band done by Dr. Cirangle 5 or 6 years ago (I can't recall how long). The device slipped, is defective and she needs it removed or replaced. She paid some multi-thousand dollar fee originally for some kind of lifetime service with his office (fills, visits, etc. covered) and clearly isn't getting her money's worth since the office won't even give her an appointment.
She told me that she has been trying to call for months to get in just to see him and the scheduler won't schedule her. Back in January, for example, she was told by the scheduler that she "doesn't have his schedule yet" and to call back in a month. Hello? She called back in February and was told by same person she still doesn't have his schedule. How can the "scheduler" not have his "schedule"?? Weird. It's now April and she still hasn't been given an appointment just to SEE him, it's not even a surgery date but an office visit first. Sounds like this has dragged on long enough.
Is anyone else getting the run-around by this office? She is having pain in the area where this device resides, some problems eating and needs the device removed...you would think that info would have prompted the person at Cirangle's office to get the patient in asap but nope.
Thanks for any help you can give. Is there someone else she should be talking to? Can't get to Cirangle directly.
Thank you,
