No I am not on the pre-op diet yet. I have started losing the 10% that they suggest you lose by using the "My Fitness Pal" app.  So you are saying you are only required to take a 12 week mandatory class?

I am in week 14 of the Options program and I am using My Fitness Pal to help keep me on track.  I plan to continue using after my surgery.  Please feel free to friend me.

I also have chronic foot pain but I push through it.  I am now finding that I am having less pain and I think it is due to me losing 25 lobs since mid June.  I found it hard to keep going on the lower calorie intake for the first couple of weeks but around 3-4 weeks it starting getting easier.  I found that if you eat more protein that you do not get hunger as often.

I will try to keep you updated on the process as it goes along.

Kaiser Options program is a self referral program.  Once you make an appt. you will see a coordinator who will ask you for some documents to see if you qualify.  Which is proof that you tried a weight loss program for at least 6 months within the last 5 yrs.  Also you will need to show that you have a high BMI with co-morbidities.  If you meet these criteria you should qualify.  Then you will meet with Kaiser programs doctor and have to take some required nutrition classes.  You will as have to take a mandatory 24 wks class called Options.  You will then need to attend a seminar at Pacific Bariatric.  Once you complete the classes you will get blood work and depending on whether you have lost 10% of your starting weight, your file will then be sent to the surgeons.  I am not sure how long it take to get scheduled for the surgery after all is done because I am on week 14 of the mandatory classes.

I hope this helps you.  You can add me as a friend and I can keep you updated on the process.

I am on Kaiser and am going through the Options program.  I thought I needed a referral to join but was told it is a self referral program.  You will just need to meet a certain criteria in order to be approved for any WLS.
