I live in Long Beach. If you find a local group, please let me know. Right now I'm going to a support group through my surgeon's office in Newport Beach. I thought about going to OA on Monday nights because it specializes in Bariatric Surgery, but haven't done it yet. I'm kinda iffy about the whole 12 steps thing.

My insurance required 6 months of supervised weight loss. The bariatric program I went through has a dietician on staff, so I just met with her for 6 months. I didn't have to go anywhere special.

Can anyone recommend a local WLS support group close to Long Beach? There used to be the Long Beach Coffee gang - but I don't see anyone active on the board anymore. If you are interested, perhaps a new group could be established?
