Good Morning!!

I had a wonderful weekend, went to the Pow Wow in Vallejo along the waterfront.  Was amazing to look at all the different, colorful clothes!

Tomorrow I have my surgery consult - 26 hrs from now (not as if I am excited or anything!)

Trying to figure out what I want to do for my bday in 2 weeks - or if I even want to "celebrate".

Meanwhile, just trying to drag tail through today.

May you all have a wonderful day today - Happy Monday!

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for you.  I have Kaiser, but maybe you should also post this in the insurance board as well. You might find someone who has Tricare there.

I wish you the best of luck.

Good Morning -

At this point my schedule looks good, it's going to be a nice and quiet week.  We all know how fast that can change ;).

Barb, I just bought the Jaycee Dugard book yesterday.  I started reading it last night.  I cried all the way through her tv interview, so I know I'm going to cry reading her book.  I agree with you she is an amazing inspirational woman.  I hope she can get to the point where she can do motivational speaking.

Had a great weekend, took the boys to Monterey Bay Aquarium on Saturday.  Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I was wondering the same thing.  I know that Kaiser has a plastic surgery clinic that you can private pay for and it is at a reduced rate.  I know there is one in Walnut Creek & I believe in the San Jose area.   I have been meaning to contact the Walnut Creek clinic and ask them some questions.   I'll post it if I find anything out.

Good Morning Cali Friends,

Wow, Monday already?  It seems like we were just celebrating Friday!  These weekends go by so fast.  I hope you had a great one.  What were the highlights of your weekend?  How about for the coming week?

Yesterday was a relaxing one for us.  We watched the Giants game and did a small amount of yard work.  I finished the Jaycee Dugard book which was extremely well written and sad but hopeful.  As I said yesterday, she is an amazing woman and is extremely bright and educated despite he ordeal.

This week will be a short one for me because I will take Friday off.  We are going to have a music jam weekend with my husband's friends on Sat and Sun.  I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing them.  Friday will be my house prep day.

I wish everyone a wonderful day.  Hope your week is an easy one.

Hugs,
Barb

HELP!

I am hoping someone can help me.

I need weight loss surgery -- lap bypass.  I had it 9 years ago.  I was doing great and working out hard.  Maybe I gained 15 pounds back.  Then I had a knee injury and had 2 surgeries.  I didn't exercise and ate crap. I'm terified of looking at the scale, but at 5'3, I believe I weigh around 225 if not more.  I am a size 18.

Well I am a blimp now and dont' have the same insurance I had before.  I have my husband's HMO, Tricare Prime.  My understanding is they DWCS (aka Don't Want to Cover Sh*t).  I went to my primary and he gave me a referral.  The only dr. in the area that did carry my insurance, stopped.

I called Tri-Care Prime AND went through their directory and they show ZERO providers.  I am not a woman of means but I MUST have this surgery.  Here are my questions to anyone who will listen:

1.  How do I get Tricare Prime to Cover
2.  What does it cost -- cash -- to get it done?  I am considering lapband or gastric bypass again.  I just know I want my life back.
3.  We have crappy credit, but is it possible to finance this surgery?
4.  Could I buy PPO individual insurance if I had to and then get a new dr to agree that I need Weight loss surgery and have it done?

I need practical advice.  I have already had my initial blood work done and getting ready to get cardio check up. (The HMO covers all that.) Now I have to figure this out.  This is not really about vanity.  It's about my health.  Most of family has died in their 50's due to complications of obesity (high blood pressure, heart disease, etc.)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help in any way you can.  Thank you.

Hey Barb!  Pat here.  Haven't been to the Saturday luncheons for a while, but I think of you guys often.  Just as a check-in, I had lost my expected 80% of excess weight from the surgery, been on plateau for six or seven months, then started slowly creeping back up, so i joined a Weigh****chers at Work meeting near my job.  I am using WW as my food plan, and so far it's working well.  I am finally losing again.  My hope is to have it all off by the end of the year, but I am not going to invest a lot in that.  I have 33 pounds to go to get to my goal weight, which will give me an even 100 pounds, so six months might not be quite enough time for that, but I am hoping anyway.
Can you or someone email me the particulars for the next luncheon?  I miss them, and have totally lost track.

Topic: Hopefully A Simply Sensational Sunday
Good Morning Cali Friends,

Much easier to get on the computer with a quiet house!  LOL

I hope your Sunday is starting off just the way you had planned.  I managed to sleep in a little today and now laundry is on the move!

I started reading the Jaycee Dugard book last night (I found it at Costco) and I think I'm already half way through it.  Wow, when I think if the problems or drama in my life, I am very reminded that they pale in comparison to all that this woman endured.  She is a very good writer and really recalls such details of her ordeal.  I will keep her and her family in my prayers that they enjoy their life and that time will heal all that they were challenged with.  WOW.

I am really excited that on Friday I went to my Dr. (Internist) and all my labs where spot on perfect.  The A1c was creeping up slightly but I know (as my Dr verified) that the regain I'm experiencing is the driving force behind that.  SO I do have to put on the brakes and work on getting these last 50 lbs off for good.    Darn carbs!

Well, have a wonderful Sunday and I hope it's everything you hoped for.

Hugs,
Barb
