Thanks Vegas :) I tried like heck to get out of it; but I couldn't. So I opted to self pay; I had my VSG done on January 19th.
Glad you are having a beneficial experience with the program, best of luck on your surgery!! :)
There are tons of support groups here...

Hi!
The name of the part of Kaiser that does that program is Positive Choice wellness center, Options is just the name of a specific program within that center.
OPTIONS is not a nutrition or diet class. It is the name of their bariatric surgery program. It is a 6 month class you take before Kaiser will approve bariatric surgery.
No, they will not waive the class. Surgery like that has a slew of lifestyle changes that need to be made along with it for it to be successful, so Kaiser wants to make sure you have the tools you need to make it a long term success. There is a ton to learn about the things you cannot do, things you must do and what to expect.
I personally an in week 20 of that class, and loving it! I am excited and looking forward to getting the gastric bypass once the class is over and my surgery is approved.
They also have the OPTIFAST program, which is a diet program. You can check their website for more info too, positivechoice.org.
I hope this helps you. :)
Hi!
Kaiser has a separate program for this, so as far as I have seen there rteally aren't alot of regular primary care doctors that specialize in bariatric surgery. You should ask for a referral to the Positive Choice weight loss center of Kaiser. Dr. Ray is the one who runs the program, and they have all kinds of help and support for weight loss there. Everything from diet programs to bariatric surgery programs.
Kaiser even has them on a separate website...positivechoice.org, but they are still a Kaiser program.
Hope this helps!
Hey all, does anyone know of a support group in the inland empire area mainly Fontana?
I would like to attend a support group to get back on track but because of my work schedule I can't get to Hawaiian Gardens in California.
Thanks
hello everyone,
I am looking for help. I don't have a date yet, but I will be traveling to have surgery with Dr K. alone. I am looking for a volunteer to pick me up from Huntington hospital (I can't have a taxi etc) and I will pay you for your time. I am also looking at a couple of agencies. thanks everyone
thanks everyone, I have to have someone, not a taxi, they want a person to pick me us. Doug I looked at the agency you suggested but you need to sign in so I have not done that yet, but I will look. I think I am going to post if someone local can help me also. Thanks again
hi, my name is Chris, I had gastric bypass on 02/20/15. Thank god everything went well with no complications. My question is, is it normal to feel depressed afterwards? I guess I just feel like I'm never gonna be the same or ever eat again(which I know I'll eat again). It just feels that way. Will I ever be able to enjoy my favorite foods again? Thanks in advanced.
