Thanks Willa,
The furniture is still sitting in my garage until I can get some free time to strip the bedroom and paint etc. before bringing in the dresser for now. The other items will just have to wait until my son moves out so my daughter can have his big room.
Also, my hubby loves his new tool box. He was so proud on Sunday after church cleaning it up and organizing his tools.
Hope we can get together in Sept. for dinner.

Topic: RE: Good, bad and will to not choke the crap out of stupid people
I have to agree with the stupidity of some people and of course the negative & ignorance.
Anyone I come across I have told that I had WLS or they knew before I had it. Fortunately for me, everyone has been extremely positive and supportive. There has been a few (friends, family, & acquaintances) with the negative attitude & look. Guess What? They are no longer my friends, family or acquaintances. I don't need these type of people in my life even if they are family.
As I prepared myself in the months before my surgery, I kept my head high, and a complete and total positive attitude about it.
I CHOSE TO DO THIS FOR ME & MY LIFE, TO ENJOY THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH MY FAMILY, ENJOY THE GOLDEN YEARS WITH MY HUBBY (several years away still), SEE MY CHILDREN GET MARRIED & MEET MY GRANDCHILDREN, (1st grandchild to arrive in Jan/Feb 2012.
Congrats on not gaining weight for your birthday. Wish I could get back to losing but I have been exactly the same for 1 yr now. I just need to get off my butt and go exercise. Exercise always seems to help.
Keep your head up and continue fighting the fight.

My 2 cents...Have been around the California Board for about 5 years. This board was really really tight (especially the Southern Cal area). There was a couple of blow ups a few years ago...personality conflicts, stolen money, and miscommunications. Many people got fed up and went over to Facebook with their WLS friends. So we almost started from scratch about 2 years ago...(I'm smiling...You oldtimers...Thinking of Gus and his popcorn). This board is a mix of society...The good and bad. Most are here for support. Sometimes we need nurturing...Sometimes tough love. You should get both here. On the Main and RNY board you get passionate people who support their surgery and feel others and not as enlighted...Take it with a grain of salt. If you are not sure about something call Patty with Memorial...She is really helpful with years of experience under her belt. The first few months of WLS are hard and confusing...But it does get easier.
Anyways, you have a cross section of society here...Take the good and commonsense stuff with you...Discard the junk. Brian

Topic: RE: Hardest 10 lbs!
Thank you everyone for your words of wisdom. I'm going to start tracking my food intake again, I am sure that will help.
Honestly, if I stabilized at this weight I would be happy and content, but it would be nice to hit my goal :)

For some people it's because they are at a good weight and that 10 pounds on the scale is just extra skin. I always mentally subtract 10 pounds off my weight to account for that. (Rule of thumb: 1 pound of loose skin for every 10 pound lost... give or take.)
For others, they are eating more, exercising less and/or letting more junk back into their lives. On the eating more, that's natural and probably a good thing. We can't live on 600-800 calories a day for the rest of our lives!
For me, the last 10 pounds wasn't really all that different from the middle 10. Of course, it wasn't as easy and fast as the first 10!
But I made a point to up my exercise every time my weight loss slowed down. It was important for me to lose as fast as possible as I didn't know how long I could stay in "dieting" mode and I wanted to get as much weight off as possible before I pooped out.
