Looking for other SoCal bariatric folks in and around the Greater Los Angeles area who might be looking to get together to discuss our respective journeys.
I'm usually in the downtown Los Angeles area Monday through Friday, if anyone wants to meet during the daytime hours in a public place. :)

Anthem Blue Cross with AltaMed as the medical group for them was the winning combination for me.

I am 9 years out and just ate three homemade turkey meatballs(I didn't Make them) and they were extremely salty. I didn't want to hurt the cook's feeling so I ate them. Now I am sick to my stomach. Can you dump on salt or do I need to look at something else that can be causing it?
My Doctors have referred me to 2 different Bariatric places. The first one did NOT take my secondary insurance and the new places that they referred me to is quite a ways away! and I have no answers from them as of yet. I have Medicare ( Disability permanent) and State Medi-Cal. My BMI will not qualify me but I've been over weight for 26 years, Declared disabled in 2013 I have diabetes, Metabolic syndrome, Total neuropathy of my feet and legs up to my knees and in my hands, Fibromyalgia, Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis, Lupus, Sjogrens, fatty liver that is 3 times its normal size, gall stones, kidney stones, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, bad cholesterol and super high off the charts triglycerides and I am sure I am forgetting a few! I haven't been able to get under 200 lbs without the help of phentermine and topamax but as soon as I stop taking it , the lbs come right back on and then some. I can not consistently work out because of my legs and conditions.
i am not sure what the best type of bariatric surgery would be best for me, Th referred Doctor wont even see patients for a consult until after they have gone to a Seminar and the first one isn't until Jan14th. I 'd like to know if I am covered first before I even start with them.
Seems such a hassle... has anyone else been completely covered with medicare and state medi cal in the Sacramento Area? if so who did you go through?
