Hello Melissa,
I see that you are having surgery done by Dr. Otero, that is the surgeon for John Muir in Concord correct? I am going to add you if you dont mind so that I can get your input on your whole process and how it all went for you because im thinking of switching to John Muir and getting my surgery done by Dr. Otero.
THank you :)

Hello Everyone,
We should totally start some kind of support group in the bay area maybe where we meet up from time to time to discuss our struggles and have fun! I live in Oakley and work in Pittsburg.

Hi Everyone! I'm waiting on my gastric sleeve. Hoping to have it within the next couple weeks. (Fingers crossed!) My surgeon is Dr. Takata also. I'm in Ramona, so I'm part of the group! Wish I could say I've already had the surgery, but hopefully it will be real soon!! :D
Topic: RE: protein bars!!
Woah, Clif Builder bars have 20 g of sugar in them! I don't dump but they do put me in a carb coma if I have one as an afternoon snack.

Topic: RE: protein bars!!
Hi,
I have tried the premier nutrition ones from Costco. They have about 270 or 280 calories (depending on which of the 3 flavors you have), BUT they have 30 grams of PROTEIN! And they taste pretty good! Also, I would recommend the Premier Nutrition chocolate "shake" drinks that come in 11 oz boxes -- also at Costco. They have less calories AND they also have 30 GRAMS of PROTEIN and they taste very good cold (not quite like a real chocolate shake, but what can you do?).
I buy them both and am very happy with them. They both taste better than any other "30 grams of protein" that I have had (not sure how much meat/fish you would have to eat to get 30 gms of protein.
I think they are a pretty good deal. The drinks have much less carbs than the bars, but the bars still have less grams of carbs than the number of grams of protein they have. If you eat half a bar, you will be getting 15 grams of protein and 13 grams of carbs.
Just my 2 cents,
Ruth in San Francisco

Topic: I have new pictures of myself, but can't upload them...
Hello everyone,
I have had new pictures of myself a couple of times now, but they won't allow me to upload anything larger than 20K bytes! And most of my pictures are WAY bigger than that. I don't remember how I got the original picture uploaded, but I can't figure out how to make the recent ones smaller.
I have jpgs. Maybe I should try doing it on my Mac at home in iPhoto, instead of in Paint on my windows machine at work.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
Ruth

Yup..and i'm a raging liberal. But to me, "liberal" means "leave me alone," on matters of PERSONAL decisions.
