Topic: Kaiser Fremont - VASTLY Confused
Hi all!
I'm hoping one of you can help me make sense of this, please. I attended WLS Overview on 4/14. Emailed my PCP for referral on 4/16 and he approved. I assumed that the next I would hear would be a letter with orientation info, but on Mon 4/23 I received a call from Fremont Kaiser to schedule my Psych appt. Anybody have any insight as to why this would be my first step? Appt is for 5/30 in Union City.
Thank you

Topic: Clothing Exchanges ??
Hi, I live in Long Beach, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any clothing exchanges in my area for those who have had wls.
I just had surgery 3-19, I am not that far out, but I know eventually I will be needing smaller clothes and do not have many contacts or finances available to be able to keep the right size clothes on my back.
Anyone in the surrounding area that knows of any exchanges or of anyone who has clothes in smaller sizes, I would appreciate the info or contact number of the person incharge of it.
I wont really have clothes to exchange unless someone need 5x clothes.
Thank you,
Feel free to PM me.
Leisa

Hi Beth,
I live in Santa Clarita so we're almost neighbors. I had RNY almost 5 years ago and wi**** had been available to me when I was your age. I'd love to help you any way I can with your life-changing decision. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Good luck with getting a surgery date soon.
All the best.

Hi again Suzy,
Yes, the second Saturday of each month, Wells Fargo Center, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. I cannot recall the name of the room, but it is easy to find. Not the main big theatre, but it is a room off of the main lobby. There are signs and lots of people who are more than likely there for the same thing that can direct you.
Congratulations on doing so well! I was in the hospital for three nights, four days. And, yes, it is easy to get very full on next to nothing. My first two weeks I just couldn't take in more than 150 calories a day, my doctor was somewhat worried when I told him this because it is not normal. However, at 4 and 1/2 weeks out now there appears to be something going on that's not so normal either. Tonight I called my surgeon's office in San Francisco and left a message that I need to be seen. I won't bore you with the details, I wish I could say I too "looooove my doctor" but that would be a lie. I think he may not be as good as I thought and might have way over tightened everything so the passages are just too small.
Hope to meet you at the next meeting and here's my email in case you need any extra support in the meanwhile, [email protected]
Take care,
Brenda

Topic: New Here :)
Hi Everyone! my name is Beth,
I'm 25 married with a 18 mo old boy
. I live in the antelope valley.
I am working towards having a RNY hopefully in the next couple months.
I will find out exactly when at my first consultation appt this Thursday! (Very nervous yet extremely excited! ) I am a kaiser pt and have been through the 12 week education class at palmdale kaiser. It ended on march 15 so I am excited that i am moving forward with this next apt, I am cleared by my primary, all my labs clear, and by physc just waiting on the surgeon consult.
I am looking to connect with some people for help with any questions I may have during all of this
. Also for some peer support cause I mean everyone knows what a big deal this all is but not really :) unless you are or have gone through WLS its hard to understand :)
Looking forward to hearing from you guys :)

I'm sorry to say that I'm in Sonoma County, but I am a ThinnerFuture patient, and Dr Wetter's college, Dr Pam Foster's my surgeon. I had my RNY on 4-16-12. AMAZING group of people, you'll be very happy you are going through them. Good luck to you

Hi Brenda! THANK you for the wonderful info...my surgery went amaingly well! I was released Wed. night to come home. I had my RNY bypass done in Burlingame (thats where my insur. approved it for), but I'm glad they did, I loooove my Dr. (Pamela Foster) They have support groups at the hospital where I had my surgery, but its an almost 2 hr drive, so I wanted to try finding local one's. I didnt even know they had support groups at the Wells Fago Center. They're on the 2nd Sat. of the month? What time are the support groups? I would love to attend! I'm short with reddish hair...I would love to meet you! I too, live in Windsor. Gosh, i can't believe how full I get just with a few sips,or a couple teeny bites of soup,etc....I feel like I can tolerate a little more water today, I just have to remember tiny sips :o) Thanks again, Brenda!

Hi Suzy,
I hope your surgery went well. I was looking around OH tonight, usually I just go to the RNY forum, but then looked into the "go local" for California. I live in Windsor and had my RNY bypass done at UCSF on March 22. The local support group I attend once a month, second Saturday at the Wells Fargo Center is very good. Hope to see you there. My name is Brenda, very tall, red hair. Look for me there, would love to meet you. Hope all is well, there's probably some rough days ahead for you if you're anything like me. Just remember to sip water constantly and everyday does get better.
