Topic: Possible ulcer?
I am 4 years out of RNY - Went to bed last night with some pain in my left upper side, under ribs.
Today, the pain is constant. Feels similar to an air bubble being stuck but more constant. What are the symptoms of an ulcer?
SIDE NOTE - I had my heart checked several times a few months ago because I kept getting pain in my chest, right where my heart is. Ticker is PERFECT thank God! Could this be symptom of ulcer as well?

Topic: RE: Clothing Exchanges ??
Hi there! I am in Anaheim and am going through my closets today. I have some clothes from the 3x down to some 1x size. I posted here locally a while back, but OH wasn't working on sending notifications at that time. If you want to look through what I got - you are welcome to take. I can't say any of them are "fashionable" as at those sizes I wasn't too concerned about fashion - more comfort and hiding my size.
I am going to donate the box on Sunday - so if anyone else reads this and wants some - let me know. There is one big box and a plastic bin.

Hi Ladies!
I'm also in the Bay area.. I live in Pittsburg, work in Martinez and will be having my sugery at John Muir Medical Center, Concord Campus with Dr Otero. I am just waiting for a consult date with Dr Otero and I'll be on my way. I started this process in December and got set back with a back injury. I was in the process 8yrs ago and wasn't in the right frame of mind as I now realize. I'm scared, I won't lie. But i'm excited for a new life, a new healther life for me and for my 2yo son and my husband. I'm hoping to have it early June but it will happen when it's supposed to, right?

Topic: Kaiser WLS Journey...
Hello All,
I just got a tentative Surgery date and I'm SOOO beyond excited! I had to share.
I started the process to get surgery by asking my PCP for a referral to get WLS. He told me I needed to attend a class and after that e-mail him and he would forward my referral to the Fremont Bariatric Program. I took the class in Jan, got a referral to attend an Orientation in Fremont on Feb 26, from there, I had an appt with my (kaiser) surgeon on Mar 15, that day I asked for authorization for the DS,(see note below) was scheduled for the Psych Eval April 11th and 2 weeks later (TODAY) had my consult with Dr Rabkin. AND they scheduled me for surgery on May 24th. Crazy fast~
Any questions, feel free to PM me.
Note:
I chose the DS for several reasons.
1) BEST chance for high % EWL.
2) BEST chance for MAINTAINING that weight loss.
3) NO Dumping Syndrome.
4) Able to continue taking NSAIDS
5) I didn't want a kitchen sink for a stomach (basically just a vessel with a drain hole)
I could go on and on but you get the idea.
Did I mention I'm BEYOND excited?

Hello,
Which surgery are you requesting? If you're requesting a DS, that might be why they want you to schedule the Psych appt. It's seems to be a FAST process now. Esp with a higher than 50 BMI, I was told that before the Chief of Bariatrics can review my case the Psych has to input their 2 cents (so to speak, psychs are paid WAY more than that, lol).
I had my psych on April 11th. and got a call YESTERDAY from Dr. Rabkin's office to schedule my consult. Which was TODAY, I got a surgery date of May 24th!! that's 4 weeks from tomorrow (thurs). and was told Kaiser MAKES them schedule at least a month out from Consult dates. (I'm assuming I could have had an earlier date).
PM me if you'd like more info.
And best of luck to you.
