People have successfully appealed the pre-op weight loss requirement, though of course no one at Kaiser is going to tell you that. You would have to file a grievance. You should make a complaint to the DMHC (dept of managed health care) at the same time. There is NO evidence that mandatory pre-op weight loss makes bariatric surgery any more successful.

Here is the link to the DMHC statement on this subject:

Thanks Dave. I spoke with my PCP & she said to try antacid to see if it goes away. So far, so good. Thank you for reply! :-D

From listening to a few who have spoken about ulcers, they state the pain is more than minor.  Blood in stool is another BIG SIGNAL of an ulcer.  It doesn't sound logical for pain in the heart area to be signals of an ulcer.  GUT pain and bright red toile****er or darker red stool would warrant a call to your surgeon, and/or a trip to the ER to check for an ulcer.  Hey all! So it looks like everything is coming together pretty well for a fun weekend! I hope lots of you can make it out to visit. We will do a clothing exchange, recipe exchange, pot luck, door prizes and vote for our favorite dish. Please feel free to invite family and friends.... unless their ******** like mine, in that case leave their asses home.

We will start our day at Vasona Park to catch up and then will meet up at Claim Jumper for dinner and go out dancing at the Saddle Rack after that.... Yay us....

So heres all the much needed info

Saturday May 19th

Vasona Park in Los Gatos at 12:30pm - 4:30pm
333 Blossom Hill Rd
Los GatosCA 95032

We will meet up at Vasona Park at  12:30pm, look for signs leading you to us. Where we end up is dependent on open tables. You should be able as the cashier at the entrance to lead you to the OH meet up. It does cost a few bucks to park so be sure to bring cash. You may also want to bring cash if you would like to rent bikes, trikes or boats. A few things to remember for this portion of the event:
*Cash
*Your Pot Luck dish (aim for a dish that suits your stage of the WLS diet)
*Recipe Cards for your dish to pass out
*Any clothing you can no longer use, I will haul away clothes that no one takes so you dont have to tote them home.
*Sunscreen... or tanning lotion depending on your taste.. LOL

Claim Jumper in Fremont at 7:00pm
43330 Pacific Commons Blvd
Fremont, CA 94536
 (510) 445-1850
I am leaving a time gap so people who need to check into hotels and shower can do so. If you are here from out of town you are welcome to come hang out with me at my place, Ill just be getting ready for the eve. If anyone would like to host an event in between the meet up and dinner feel free to do so. I personally want the time to put on some make up and slip into something trashy, just sayin'. Claim Jumper has huge portions and we can all share some yummy stuff. The night club we are going to is about 5 minutes from Claim Jumper which should make it easy. Last meet up we had many of you come from up North so it should work well to do dinner and dancing in Fremont so your halfway home :) If you are coming from SoCal and not crashing with me Id recommend staying somewhere between Milpitas and Fremont. The Vasona portion of the meet up will be on your way in that direction and you will just continue North for about 30 minutes afterward be able to check in, primp and head to dinner nice and close to your hotel.

Okay so this place is ******g amazing... I know I know, its country which may not appeal to everyone but these ***** know how to do it. Its country and line dancing till about 10pm, then the cover band sings along to top 40s and hits from the 80s and 90s an 2000s as well. Its super fun, a place everyone fits in. All ages, not a teeny bopper joint... Its got a ton of cool **** a cage to dance in for your inner **** a barber chair in which you lay back in for a flat rate and drink all you can in one gulp for your inner frat boy and a mechanical bull for Frisky Frisco cause well... anything that wild in between his legs makes him happy.... Cover is $20, I must admit their mixed drinks are way ******g watered down so order shots (my fav is the chocolate cake shot) beer or get all hood with me and we can drink in the parking lot. This place is huge and super fun. So dont be a sour puss.... come shake what your mama, or burger king gave you!

Here are some pics from our past good times:

hello :)

hoping to attract those of you who go to fremont kaiser bariatrics.

so, i did the orientation, and now i'm meeting one on one with the surgeon today.  anyone that has gone through the whole process know how long it really takes?  i'm hoping to knock all of the appts out fast so that i can get the Sleeve done.

i haven't lost any weight since my first weigh in, but hopefully they give me a decent number to lose and not something outrageous like 30 or 40 lbs.  i'm 235 right now, i think.

thanks and hope to get good support here!
