They don't require any classes beforehand? I am southern california and the Kaiser here requires a 12 week Options class before you can get your referral for surgery and meet with the surgeon

I had a similar struggle. If you can stick to the two shakes for meals and then have a protein/veggie at dinner it will come off in a few weeks. honest. Add walking and you're good to go. Its great prep for what's ahead. I can now go on liquids for a few days at a time and power through it without feeling tortured. Hang in there!

I'm about 46mi away from you in Rancho Cucamonga, and I am definitely trying to find people to hang out/exercise with, I just arrived here! :D

Now in Inland Empire. Looking for some people who want to work out with me! Biking, walking, someday running. When I hit 250, horseback riding! Once I can lift my own body up I plan on joining Hangar 18 or Threshold. I'm new out here and left all of my friends behind, so I'm looking to make some new ones along the way and keep active!

Topic: Anyone in the Pasadena area??
I'm currently in the process of waiting for my surgeon to submit to my insurance company for approval. I'm also in the process of trying to lose 30 lbs before surgery (my own goal).
Would love to find others in the area who are in a similar situation or who have already had the surgery...to talk with, hang out, walk, movies, etc.

Hi Coleen,
If you're open to making the trek out to San Francisco, you are welcome to attend my group! (SF WLS Support Group). I am a licensed therapist who specializes in bariatrics and I moderate a small and fun group on the first Saturday of each month in downtown SF. Groups are free and open to everyone. Also, the Powell BART station is right outside the building where groups are held.
For more info you can check out: www.meetup.com/SF-WLS-GROUP
Feel free to email me if you have any questions!
