Support Group Near me in Pleasanton??
Yes!
OK, it isn't Pleasanton, but I think it's the best you will do:
We have a support group that meets every month in San Jose - I post notices on this forum almost every month about it. The group is sponsored by Pacific Laparoscopy, the practice of Dr. John Rabkin, a prominent DS surgeon, but patients of any practice are welcome. You and your support person, if any, would be very welcome to join us. There is no fee for the support group and no committment involved.
We also welcome people who are still considering all their surgical options - it's a great way to learn more about the DS from friendly, well informed people who already live with it. It's a small, casual group.
If you would like more info about the group, just send me a pm.
And btw, who is going to be your surgeon in Mexico? There are a couple great ones there, and others that are very much not recommended.

I was planning to have my DS with Dr. Rabkin about 8 years ago when my husband lost his job and our insurance. So I have been educating myself on this for years. I feel very confident in general going into it but it is always nice to have some people who understand first hand.
Working and living in the tri-valley would make San Jose pretty tough for meetings, though.
