support group tomorrow in San Jose!
Yes, it's that time again. Our local support group will meet Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm in the Theater Building of Hoover Middle School, 1635 Park Ave., San Jose. The group is sponsored by Pacific Laparoscopy but patients of any surgeon, or with no surgeon yet, are very welcome. There is no fee and no committment.
The group is oriented towards the DS, but again, everyone is welcome. It's a great way to meet some wonderful people and learn more about this wls option from people who live with it. The group is small, informal, and well informed.
I've noticed that these threads get more hits after the meetings than before, so keep in mind that we meet every month, and if you miss this meeting I would be glad to provide the details for the next one.
Come join us!

Great!
I'm looking forward to meeting you.
Yes, Kaiser is strict about the pre-op weight loss, but you can file a grievance to get past that. Kaiser will deny your grievance, but the DMHC (dept of managed health care) will side with you, because there is NO evidence that people who are forced to lose weight pre-op do better than those who are not forced to do so.
But we can talk more about that at the meeting tomorrow.
