Hi, Im in North County San Diego. Wondering if there are any from my area who have had WLS and can recommend a surgeon.  I have blue cross shield ppo and qualify as far as BMI.  Im thinking Sleeve.  Would love to hear from others.

Im not sure about SD surgeons, but i did want to invite you to the Southern CA meet up - it will be primarily people with the VSG and a few RNY people next weekend in Long Beach! We'd love to have you and you can learn a lot about life post-wls and make some new friends!

Dr. Charles Callery is the main N. County Doc.  www.thinnertimes.com  I am the support leader and I also had surgery with him.  I can't say enough about his track record as ewel as his true care and concern for his patients.

Thank you. My PCP referred me to Dr Callery.  Do you mind telling me what type of surgery you hd and How long ago did you have surgery? I appreciate your recommendation :)

I had Dr. Rumsey at Pacific Bariatric, he and his whole staff were so nice and awesome! They have several surgeons there, they are right across the street from Scripps Mercy Hospital. Pacific Bariatric has a web site you could check out and see if theyaccept your insurance. Best of luck to you!

Thank you Mrs P :)  I have PPO so, I can choose a surgeon.  I will look into your Dr. Runsey as well. I am looking into the sleeve. How long post op are you?  I think its wonderful to have more than one surgeon in your bariatric group. And Im also considering a surgeon that has good after care. Thank you for your time!

I had RNY, but Dr. C does all 3 surgeries.  I see good results with the sleeve.  Becasue with the sleeve, you can eat more and do not have dumping, patients tend to lose a little less overall and a little slower, (in general) but that can be a good thing depending on your BMI and you particular eating habits.

Thank you Rain Rain and Mrs P.   do you all have to have a family Practitioner who is familiar with WLS? Or do you see your Surgeon for stomach/digestion issues, post op.  Also Rain Rain, What if you had problems and your Dr Callery was out of town, who would you see?  It would be nice if he had other assosiates, other surgeons.  Thank you again for all your help :)
