Hello,

I am new to the site and am pre - op.....

I have completed steps up to pysch evaluation then surgery date.  I have been struggling with trying to loose my 25 lbs (10%) since Feb 29th. I get motivated for a week or so then allow things, environment and people sabatoge me.  Like my friend said "haha, I'm a 7 day dieter".  That makes me kinda sad but it's true.  I don't want it to be true!

I am motiviated most of the time, drinking my protein drinks, eating 1200 calories, water intake, excercise 3-6 times a week but my excuses come around and get the best of me! I hate it!!!

So, if any one has any advise on how I may get my 25 lbs off, I'd love it!  I was even thinking taking diet pills or drink only protein drinks until I loose my pre op weight.

Help, please?

Thank you so much for listening

I had to lose 25lbs before my surgery with Dr. Dutta also. I cut out all fast food and soda and just walked 1-2 miles about 4 times a week. Keep focused you will lose the weight. Good luck!

I had a similar struggle. If you can stick to the two shakes for meals and then have a protein/veggie at dinner it will come off in a few weeks. honest. Add walking and you're good to go. Its great prep for what's ahead. I can now go on liquids for a few days at a time and power through it without feeling tortured.  Hang in there!

Hi there, I am struggling with the pre diet too. I have to lose 15 and everyday I seem to come up with some reason why it's okay to cheat a little. But thats how I got to this point, so today is my day... I will not cheat! I am going to stick to 2 protein shake meals and a protein/veggie dinner.   I get so excited when I see all the before and after pics on this site. You and I are going to do this!!!!

Thank you so much for your encouragement, all of you.

I will do the 2 protein drinks and 1 dinner veggie/protein but I get dizzy at times (prediabetic issue) so I will see if I need to stick a sick of cheese or something in me.

The "just cheat alittle" syndrome I use too...I am back on the ladder of going down on my weight...let's rock!

I had to loose 28lbs before my surgery.  I know how hard it is to loose the initial pre-op weight. I finally had to get real with myself and decide how bad I wanted to have the surgery.  When I finally set my mind to it I was able to get the weight off in a few months.  I actually joined weigh****chers and started walking at lest 3 to 5 miles day.  I can honestly say I am so glad that I made the lifestyle change.

Remember surgery is only a tool it doesn't fix our brains.   Good luck on your journey & I hope you are able to get your weight off.

I'm in the same place you are. I actually can quite easily drop weight quickly in a short period of time... usually. Struggling through this one. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
