Suggestions for how to handle chocolate cravings? I am having them bad today and I let myself finally have one little piece, but wondering what others do to keep the cravings away. Thanks for any input you can offer. Happy Easter Everyone.

I usually make a SF mocha to deal with my chocolate cravings - I use "diet" hot chocolate (it has 25 cal per package), a couple tsp of instant coffee, artificial sweetner, and SF peppermint (usually) - just add some water, and it hits the spot for me. I also have SF chocolate syrup i add to my coffee too.

But honestly, I have to stay away, far far away, from chocolate, b/c I don't crave it until it's around me.

I bake some terrific muffins: 1 box of devil's food cake mix (sugar free if available) with with small can of pumpkin. Bake at 400o for 20 minutes (makes 12). They are amazing and filled with lots of healthy veggies. 110 delicious calories. Add a few nuts for some extra crunch if desired.

Hi Amy;  When I have a chocolate craving, I mixed coconut oil (melted) with some Hershey's powder, mix until smooth.  I can't remember the ratio, add stevia or splenda to sweeten, maybe throw in a few peanuts, whatever suits your fancy.  Stick in the freezer either on parchment paper in blobs or in tiny little cupcake papers.  Let I let myself have a few to satisfy the craving.  No sugar, no guilt, no dumping.  Then I get some good sleep and thinking about what's going on emotionally, physically, have I not rested?  have I not eaten right?  Is something bugging me?  Funny how, for me, when I give myself permission to have this safe mock chocolate, I don't eat THE ENTIRE bag like I did before surgery of some kind of 'forbidden' candy.  Hope this helps.  Take good care of you.

Thanks for your suggestions ladies. They are all very helpful. I do have a lot of stress going on right now although some of it is good stuff. Cheers.

I go for the real stuff...Mainline that thing.  I will grab some semi sweet chocolate chips from the freezer!!  Just a small hand full...I don't dump.  I have found I want better quality chips...cocoa about 60-70%.  A lot of store brands are coming up short in the quality now for their chips...cheating (skimping on ingredients).  Brian

If I get a chcocolate craving - I will have the real thing (moderation) to kill the craving (usually split it with a friend or co worker that way I wont eat the whole thing)

It is just one of those things I will not keep around me normally.

Hang in there but enjoy!
