Moving back to CA

Hi All,

I moved from San Jose CA to Raleigh NC about a decade ago. We are moving to Elk Grove CA, a suburb of Sacramento. 

I had my weight loss surgery nearly 5 years ago.  I have a huge support group in Raleigh, but will be starting from scratch in Elk Grove because we don't know anyone there. Among other things, I'll need to find a bariatric practice, so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. 

I look forward to getting to know people on the CA forum.

I live in Folsom, not too far from Elk Grove. I believe Sutter in Elk Grove (you would have to double check online) has an open support group at their hospital. "Ruggie" on OH has his own support group that he started and is open to all surgeries (pre and post-op) and meets monthly in the Sacramento area. I haven't had much luck finding too many locally that work well for me though (time constraint's). Good luck!

I'm delighted to see your smiling face and hope to see it in person soon. I'm in CA right now trying to tie things up with the house we are trying to buy, but I'll be back in NC next week. I just can't wait to see less of you soon. Congratulations on your significant success!!

Same here. Not sure when the next meeting is but I will do my best to make it.

The big, general support group meetins are now on the first Saturday of each month at 10AM, so the next one will be on April 7th. I'll be heading home next Tuesday, so I'll be in town.

My doc is close to  Elk Grove ( unfortunately I am in Citrus Heights :)
I love him and his staff. I had my original surgery at Stanford and am THRILLED to be with Dr. Eslami now !!!!!

Would love to meet up , that sounds great to me.
I have a feeling that bypass is going to be lots different than the band , but i guess that is a good thing.
Started my 2 week diet today and I can already tell that I am going to need to find some protein crm. chicken soup.( what I have is 10 years old!! ( I swear I am not a horder :)..all this sweet stuff won't cut it for me very well !!!!!!
Hope everything goes easy with the house, there sure are a lot to choose from in the area!!
