Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site and am hoping to learn more about different options that are available to help me lose weight. Like I'm sure so many of you have experienced, I've tried countless diet plans/programs and still have a lot of weight I need to lose. I'm pretty new to California, and heard about Lindora as a medically supervised weight loss program. I don't know much about it, and was hoping that I could get some more information about it from someone that might have tried it in the past. I greatly appreciate any information/testimonial you can give me. Or if you have another suggestion for a good program out here (I'm in the LA area), I'm definitely open to other recommendations.

Thanks so much!!

Hi Julie, I haven't personally tried it but my hair dresser has gone twice and was very successful each time in losing weight (both times gained it back). It's expensive and time consuming (both good reasons to behave while on program). For me, weight loss surgery was my only option to keep my weight off. I'm 4 years since RNY surgery and maintaining my weight for first time in my life.

My cousin has been doing Lindora and has done it before and she too gained the weight back and isn't sticking to plan so much anymore now that she is done with the program again... I knew that dieting for me didn't work and I needed to truly change - I had VSG in July and it has really changed everything... I heard Lindora is a good program but strict - good luck to you.

Fist and foremost let me Welcome you to Obesity help!  I too am new to this website but I must admit I have learned so much in the short weeks since joining.  Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Now to your question: My cousin was on the Lindora program which is very expensive and very time consuming.  She had to go into there offices a few times a day.  She lost the weight while on the program but once she stopped they weight gain came right back.

For me my only options is WLS.  I just started the WLS program thru my insurance company and hope to have my WLS by spring 2012!  Good luck to you!

Warm Regards,
Jackie

I did Lindora and was very successful.  I lost 80 pounds, but it came back as soon as I got tired having to go to the clinic twice a week.  It is expensive and time consuming, but it does work.  For me, WLS was a better choice at this stage in my life.

I joined Lindora back in Sept because I started regaining weight very very fast and needed to get control over it. It works if you follow it to the tee. Then you have to do the maintenance to keep it off. I'm still in the weight loss phase. This has helped me allot. My appetite was out of control it was very disappointing after going Through surgery and being able to eat that big of portions again. I lost 30 lbs since Sept and hoping to get the rest of my excess weight off.

I did Lindora twice when I lived in California. It worked. It was expensive. I gained the weight back both times in less time than it took me to lose it. The B12 shots left lumps in my "cheeks"...lol. One of the hardest things for me was having to go in all the time, fighting traffic, scheduling things around it weekly, etc... it felt all consuming and somewhat isolating. Good luck to you.
