I ate what seemed like a lot today, but my calorie count was 490 for the entire day.  My average daily caloric intake has been 522 since July.  WTF?  I got 78g of protein in and all of my vitamins, but I am not sure how I am get any more food in!
Ugh.

I wish I had that problem...I'm only 4 mo out and I can easily eat 800 cal/day. I could consume a lot more calorie dense food if I chose to.

Are you have any fears of regain? Fear of eating? Maybe there are some mental issues that are keeping you from eating more?

Try eating 3 small meals and 2 snacks a day. You should be able to eat more than 4-500 cal/day. Even if you added to protein shakes a day, you should get more than those kinds of numbers. Try eating some fruits/veggies, if you are eating non fat/low fat products, go back to regular cheese/milk, etc.

This is a cross post from the RNY board and they had a great suggestion.. eat on a schedule.  I am going to try and set my alarm to remind me to eat more often.

I don't have fear of regain.  Actually, I would be completely fine with a regain of 25 or so pounds.  No fear of eating.. I enjoy food quite a bit when I eat.  I am simply NEVER hungry and my pouch still doesn't seem to hold very much food.  I was really pushing it when I ate the sandwich last night.  I ate almost the entire thing and felt kinda icky afterward.

In terms of foods I ate before surgery:  I can eat 5 pizza rolls.  (Yes, occasionally I eat crap.. just not often).  Five pizza rolls leaves me satisfied, six makes me feel sick.   I can eat about half of a McDouble (with no bun) with roughly 2 - 5 french fries.   (Again, I DON'T eat these foods very often.. but they are portions that most people can identify with).

I went through a period of depression after surgery (because I wasn't working and had no medical coverage).  I stopped taking my vitamins, didn't get enough protein, etc.  I have worked through those issues.  Now I am a vitamin NAZI!  My food is all protein dense.. egg whites, lean deli meats, protein shakes.  Almost no carbs.  Fruit makes me dump (at least the small amount I have tried since surgery).  I feel great!  My hair is growing in thick, my skin has a healthy color, I have energy... so, I guess my question was more "If I am taking in enough protein and getting in my vitamins and I feel good, am I going to do any long term damage by not eating more?"  The general consensus seems to be that I will COMPLETELY mess up my metabolism.  I definitely do NOT want that.
The main problem, I think, is that the only calorie rich foods that I LIKE are the ones I can't really incorporate into my diet and still remain healthy.  I don't eat cheese, sour cream, creamy salad dressings, sweets, not big on ANY dairy products really.. I can't eat fish or shellfish (I am HORRIBLY allergic).. and fruit (like I said) makes me dump.  That leaves meat, beans, eggs, veggies (which I LOVE), carbs and fried crap.  =]  I am eating the (lean)meat, eggs and some veggies.. but none of those seem very caloric.  My one really caloric food is cream.  I use a tiny bit of heavy cream in my protein coffees (usually).
Thank you so much for responding to my post.  I don't have a support group in my area (I bought a house in Podunk, Nowhere which is why I gave up my job in the first place), so my family here is my support.

A few things in no special order.  You may want to talk to your surgeon.  That caloric intake is very low and can cause problems.  Could you have a stricture?
Sort of a personal question, but with high protein and very little vegetables are your bowel movements OK...Are you getting enough fiber?  Just all protein and nothing else seems unhealthy.  Nuts can add to the protein...but are not balanced if you don't add vegetables.  You may want to try Wendy's Chili with or without cheese.  You may be lactose intolerant on the dairy issues.  You also may want to put some food on the nightstand...If you have to get up in the middle of the night...have whatever is on the nightstand for that extra calorie/protein lift.  When I first was losing I put a spoon full of cottage cheese or yogurt on the nightstand...Just me.  Plain carrots and spinach leafs are good eats also...Bananas are good for potassium...If you don't dump on them.  Hope some of these help.  Brian

Thanks, Brian!  I LOVE Wendy's chili.  It's a rare treat as the closest Wendy's is 2 hours away.  =]  When we go that way, though.. I get some.
As far as the protein only diet.. I hadn't been getting enough food, so I wanted to make sure that what I got was high in protein..   Even so, I am still only getting like 78g a day.
BMs are good.  I use Benefiber in my protein coffee drinks.
I have been doing better, I think.  I haven't been tracking as I should the last couple of days, but I ate a few green beans with my 1/2 porkchop tonight.  I ate some bread this morning.  I bought bananas today to take to work with me.

Hopefully, I'll get this figured out soon.  =]
