Hi,
I'm an oldtimer WLS person and would like to know if there are any really good, open support groups in or near L.A.? I had a "takedown" (it couldn't be totally reversed) from a BPD in 89' but still have lots of side effects from it. So, I'd like to attend a group to swap info and get some warm and fuzzies...

Hi,
Although I don't have a support group in LA, I do facilitate the OC WLS Support Group the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Kaiser located at 200 N. Lewis Street, Bldg. #1, Orange, CA 92868 (Cross Streets: Chapman and Lewis). you do NOT have to be a Kaiser patient to attend this support group.
8:15 am Back on Track (post-op 1+ years out)
9:30 am Everyone is welcome
If you have questions and/or need additional information then please email me at [email protected].
Good luck and hope to meet you at one of the OC WLS Support Group meetings.
Terry

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they
ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

Dr. Rabkin from SF has SoCal meetings in Anaheim and Ventura. My wife and I go to the Ventura meeting from the Valley. Mostly DS with some VSG and the occasional RNY or oldtimer BPD person showing up. Fairly small and intimate meetings compared to their main SF one.
1st support group/seminar - 8/03 (has it been that long?)
Wife's DS - 5/05 w Dr. Robert Rabkin VSG on 5/9/11 by Dr. John Rabkin
