My Presurgery diet consisted of chicken, ground turkey, salad, healthy choice meals, Yogurt, Ton's of water, no soda of any kind, Not even diet.. We ate stuff like taco salad and just healthy meals. I lost 30 lbs eating like that and hubby lost 65lbs... You just have to cut out all junk.. I got it all out of my house.. To be honest I didn't exercise like I should have but I am sure if you get back into a routine and eat right you will get back on track..
Good Luck, Lisa

Hi, I am a Kaiser patient in Los Angeles. I am looking for any other Kaiser patient  to ask just a few questions if you don't mind? I went to my 1st orientation class a week ago and am still waiting to hear if I am accepted into the classes starting this month. Would you mind becoming my fiend on here so I could ask you somethings?

Thank you,
Cara

Hi Cara you can add me if you would like Hubby and  I both went through all options and had our surgerys through Kaiser in Fontana... If you went through orientation you should have been excepted already.. Your just waiting for them to get you into the options classes.
Good Luck, Lisa

Hi Cara,
I went through the Options Class with Kaiser in Corona.  I began my classes last January and my surgery date is scheduled for 9/21.  I don't remember it ever being a case of being accepted into the Options Class because after all it's education.  There is certain criteria that qualifies you for the surgery like a high BMI, high blood pressure, diabetes, gerd, sleep apnea etc.  I don't think your doctor would have referred you if you didn't qualify.  However, I was stressed the entire time I was attending the classes that the surgeon would not approve me for surgery.  I stressed all those months for nothing.  I was approved on the first visit.

Hope this helps.  You can add me as a friend if you like.

It's all about calories in & calories out.  If your not able to exercise then stay to a strict 1200 calorie diet.  Log every bite you eat & drink lots of water.
