QUESTION ABOUT PAIN & BLOATING
Hello Everyone,
My bariatric bypass surgery was Monday May 23rd 2011.
..............its been 8 days.
I have felt bloated and in pain everyday and Im still bloated and in pain. Is this a long time to be in pain???
What is this bloating???
I am very very out of breath when walking due to the bloating, its pressing up against my lungs I think and making it hard to breath.
Im walking all around the house even though Im in so much pain because they say it will help but its not helping at all.
Does anyone have this experience and when will it end???
Am I unique or is this common???
Thank you so much for your help.
Love and Light, Denise

Denise,
Congratulations on your surgery first and foremost. Remember that you just had major surgery in which your insides were inflated like a weather balloon with gas and things were moved around different than they were before. There is lots of swelling and fluids collecting that the body must rid itself of, so this is very commin.
Each person's pain tolerance and recovery can be different, I always cite child bearing as proof of that. Some folks can have kids all natural and some need medication to get through it but even though, I think it's very important for you to call your surgeon and get in to see him/her to make sure everything is normal for you.
Please keep us posted and look forward to a wonderful journey ahead.
Hugs,
Barb

Hi Barb,
Thank you so much for your reply to my post. Well the bloat and pain is much better now. I still have bloat and pain but at least the bloat goes away from time to time and the pain is less and less as the days go by.
Its been 2 and a half weeks and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
I'm losing about a pound a day or more which is making it easier to bear as well.
Thank you again for your input.
(((big hugs)))
