Good Morning Calif.........

I know I have not been around much, and I am sorry about that. Just be lazy. I have a problem with my thumb and it starts hurting when I do to much on the computer. Sucks!!

Nothing much going on with me. I planted a few new plants over the past few days.  And that is about it.

DD is doing good but she is smoking. Yes I know, NOT smart. But it don't matter what I say, she just keeps smoking. I am thinking about asking her to move out. IF she wants to kill her self she can go and lives some where else.

I am loving my floors. They look so good and seem to keep the house cool in here. But everyone say my story will change when winter gets here. LOL I will let you know.

So great to see you post Lu, I miss you when you're gone.  I am so sorry to hear about DD and her choice to smoke, no good.  I can so relate though as my mother was terminally ill with breast, lung and liver cancer and was smoking because people were sneaking cigarettes to her.  It's so hard to overcome those addictions... don't I know with food!

We were on vacation since May 1st, we went to Hawaii and got back on Monday.  Rained each day but we had so much fun.  I went back to work on Wed and have been running ever since.  So glad it's the weekend.

Nor Cal Losers luncheon and clothing exchange tomorrow, can't wait for that.  We always have such a great time.

Hi Lu and Barb,

Lu, I am sorry about DD smoking. That is one of the hardest addictions to beat. I worked for the California Department of Health for their tobacco control group and lean red it's up there with heroin. Ugh!! I hope DD tries again to quit.

Barbara, where did you go in Hawaii. I am on my way there in June. Jim and I are going to the big island and Maui. I can't wait!!!!

I am still nursing a knee injury that seems to be taking forever to heal. I was told it could take up to 6 months to heal. They say breaking it is almost better than what I did which was just an intense bruise and cartilage damage.

I am going to James Durbin day in Santa Cruz. I've passively watched American Idol over the years, but really watched this year because our local boy was in it. I was so disappointed he was voted off, but we're having a hometown celebration for him today.

We missed you today but I know you're going to have a blast with your American Idol champ!!!

We went to Oahu and Maui as the couple we went with had never been there before, so we sort of played tour guides too.  Unfortunately, each day it rained and didn't have super sunny days but geez, Hawaii is wonderful whether it's sunny or raining.  I loved it and was so relaxed.

Next time we go (maybe in another 2 years) we're going to go to Hawaii (the big island) and Kaui.  Ron really wanted to go to the big island and see the volcanoes national park, but it would have been a difficult 1st trip for the other couple.  We had such a great time though.  Did a luau (I had done one 30 years ago and hated it) but we did one in Lahaina in Maui and it was WONDERFUL!  How excititng, I can't wait to hear all about your trip when you come home.  Where are you staying in Maui?
