x-post..REALLY sick lately

I've been just a tad past "blah" lately.  No matter what I eat, I feel sick - kind of like when you start to get the flu.  Even cottage cheese or yogurt makes me ill and those have been my "lets soothe the pouch" foods since surgery.  Only able to go #2 about once a week and it's about a 2-3 hour process once I take Milk of Magnesia.  Tummy cramping and blah-ness from hell - - REALLY tired and could give a crap about anything. I'm also HUNGRY all the dang time. I can still only eat small (tiny) portionss 1 cup or less depending on density but it seems I'm hungry every hour or 2.

Went in last Tuesday for a ct scan and blockage and stricture was ruled out. Tuesday at 11:45 they are going to check my gallbladder. I really don't know whats going on but I know I don't want to feel so sick anymore =(

Has anyone been through this? What did it end up being with you? Any suggestions?

I had a couple of months where I felt tired. It was as if I had no energy and I also had a terrible time with constipation. I didn't have the stomach cramping though. I also threw up several times when I'd introduce a new food.

I was anemic so my iron was increased and was told to take a B-1 sublingual daily instead of weekly. Anemia is a problem for a small amount of people who have WLS. This worked for me in terms of the lack of energy. For the constipation, I attempted to increase fiber and fat, but I also used an herbal tea called Smooth Move. That stuff really works. My nutritionist gave me the OK to use it.

It's good you're working with your doc on this. Check in with your nut on the constipation.

Good luck!! I hope they find out what the problem is.

Thanks guys - yeah my nut is the next step we just want to rule out all the bad stuff before we go messin with the already good diet as we all know it can take a while to perfect a diet routine for the poo-world.  I'll keep you guys posted!

A few ideas for energy...My 2 cents.  Things high in potassium; ornages, tomatoes, raisins, spinach, bananas, yogurt, broccoli.  You may want to try cooked spinach for both potassium, iron, and ruffage.  Two strange ones that will give me energy (I don't really know why) are Foster Farms Chicken Corn Dogs (just a bite or two) and shrimp...Just wondering if my body is missing something that is in those things.  Another thing that may help with the BMs is at Village Health in McHenry Village they have Lifetime Liquid Calcium Magnessim Citrate...It helps with the calcium and the magnesium helps with the constipation.
Other thoughts...If you don't dump...raisins, apples, strawberries...Yeah I know you can only eat a little...just small amounts.  Hang in there and talk to Naroon (sp) he is there to help.

Thanks for your input!  We found out today that I have quite a few gallstones so I'm a little relieved because I know its nothing im doing wrong. I was racking my brain trying to figure out what I was doing that was making me sick!!

Its also good to know I'm not the only one who can't resist corndogs lol...takes me FOREVER to eat one ..it's 2 mealsfor me if i eat the breadding!  Didnt think about the apples though, I love apple with peanutbutter!!

When you loose weight quickly it is not unusual to have gallbladder problems. I had mine out about 10 years ago. I had it done with the lap procedure. I went home the same day. The surgeon did not understand why I did not want to stay the night in the hospital but my husband is a nurse and he takes good care of me. Good Luck.
