Kaiser pre-op diet?
Hi everyone! This may be surgeon-specific, but can anyone tell me what the Kaiser pre-op diet is like? I've heard people throw around "2 week liquid diet" and I just want to be prepared for preparation. Haha. I am in week 9 of my classes so I assume we'll be covering this soon, but no idea. HELP! I'm in Fontana and hope to go to Crown in Murrieta.
I had my surgery 3 years ago, so things may have changed.
They did not have a pre-op diet. They did make you lose a percentage of body weight before they would continue you through the process.
Anywhere from 10-20% weight loss was expected. The surgeon would tell you during your first meeting with him.
Then the day of the surgery they would weigh you in. The nurse that checked me in the morning of my surgery was very specific, he said that I had better be below my weight set by the surgeon, or they wouldn't be doing the surgery.
This was Kaiser in Richmond CA.
