6 Days Post-Op

I understand the feeling. I live in San Francisco for school...so, school ends for me in about 24 days...Its just tough trying to o it alone sometimes. There are days when I feel really okay with what I'm doing and how I'm doing it, then there are others where I feel just...alone and worried about my choices. I should be able to move to softs/pureed food after my 2 week-appt. So, that will be good. I've been trying to sip more and more and I've been testing out some new protein powders since I want to stick with one or two for the summer.
My mom had the surgery done 7 years ago, and she was here for mine, but had to get back because she is having an unrelated procedure done....so, she had prepwork of her own to do for that. I just wish she could have stayed. She's always been a big light in the dark for me. She's still easily accessable by phone right now, which is good. But also, I feel like sometimes I bother her (though she says I don't.) My dad has even been real supportive, calling me every day, making me a package of everything I need.I think he's on board now because I can't turn back. and I think he's excited at the prospects of me being healthy and fit and able to more fully enjoy my youth. So, I have the support, Its just the distance that sometimes gets me down....but not for much longer....
(school is probably stressing me out a little bit too, but, it's okay. I don't really mind school stress, it's like busywork to me...its mindless, but somehow relaxing....) I'm jsut excited for it to be done....and to get home.

Be patient with yourself. I just sipped my protein shakes slowly throughout the day and eventually I was able to get in my required protein. If you keep feeling challenged call your nutritionist and check in. It takes awhile to adjust to things too.

Thanks msbluse. I'm going to aim for more sipping from now on. I think I was more worried about little meals vs. more sipping. I am grateful for your support! :)

I also hope you are doing well.

You are so sweet! I just want to give you a big hug, but since I can't just know that things get easier as you go along. You are so brave to do the surgery while you are in school. Focus on the schoolwork since it helps you relax and do your best with the eating. Have you tried Unjury protein powder? I loved it.

Thanks Diane :) How is your journey? 6 yearsand going strong? I love hearing all kinds of stories about peoples journeys.

School is my best bet right now....I am planning on going to class otomorrow, so that should be good for me to get out and do something.

Everyone has recomended the Unjury powder...I have to get some samples to test out :)

I hope everyone has a super night. Thanks for all the support!

I am below my goal by 20 lbs. Recently bought size 10 pants. I am happy to be where I'm at. Keep moving forward. Don't look back. There are good things ahead. Hey, I love my family too.

I would think living in San Francisco you could find some support groups. I would suggest you try to make time for at least once a week. I know with school you are pretty busy but a support group will really be helpful. I really wish I had one here in my town.

From what I've known here, there are 2 that meet once a month...I have been to one, but I'm not sure of the other and I am leaving for home in less than 20 days...I am going to find one there because it's just simpler. But thank you for the idea...and maybe you could start one....if not, maybe you could skype with some friends? they do "business calls" now, you can chat with more than one person at a time. :)

If you ever need anything I actually live about 15-20 mins from SF and Im having my surgery day after tomorrow. So if you need anything just let me know! Always willing to help someone out, even if you just need to talk. I felt like I was the only person in the bay area having WLS for a while lol
