Kaiser's Process - timeline?

wow! a 4 month wait?!! yikes

I finished my Options classes with Kaiser In the Lancaster/Palmdale area on Oct 18,2010. I was told that there would be a 4 to 6 month wait to use the Local surgeon, Pac Bar in San diego or a Kaiser facility at that time. I found another surgeon in Ventura and he is amazing. I was able to get to him along with a friend of mine, We had our consults Nov 30th and surgery was Dec 11h. 2010..My wait was 7 weeks from End of Options class to surgery. . I also was able to start the testing process prior to the end of classes...I did have to travel to panorama city for alot of additional testing. I set it up for the same week and spent a week there to get it done.... I am very pleased with the process.

I had my surgery through Kaiser in Fremont.   I don't know if they have changed how they do things, but we didn't have to take those classes.  We had our first info class, then a consultation, had to get to goal weight, and then we met with the therapist for an evaluation.  I went into my consultation at goal weight, so it might have been faster for me.. but It took me 5 months from the first appt to surgery.
