I am in Las Vegas again.

Hey everyone, I am back in Las Vegas again with my Mother. She is at the point that she needs to be in an assisted living place. We have found one only it is farther away from my dad. I am checking out skilled nursing facilities that are near where she will be living. Wish me luck so I can get this all arranged and can move them about the same time. Please remember me in your prayers. Remember my parents too. My dad is really getting worse with his dementia and my mom's heart is getting really bad.

I'm sorry that your mom's health is not good and I know it's tough to see your dad living with the dementia. I completely understand...my parents are in their 80's and my dad has a form of dementia paired with Parkinson's Disease, my mom is OK for now. Do remember to take care of yourself so that this will keep you at your best.

I'm so sorry, Elizabeth, that you are dealing with such heartbreak.  Thank the good Lord your parents have you.  I will be thinking of you and yours and praying that the answers come quickly to their living arrangements. As Ms D comments, don't forget to take care of you!!  No return of dehydration or ulcers or anything!  Be sure you are drinking your water and eating your meals on time!  And if you neede a break...go play Keno..you may come home a millionaire    Let me know if you need an ear (or shoulder...I listen reallll good ;-)...

Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers. I have found a place for my dad that is 1 1/2 miles from where we would like to have my mother live. They are both really nice places. Now we just have to get everything worked out. I am very tired but besides that I am doing good. I am taking today to rest. Please keep your thoughts and prayers coming. You just don't know how much we need and appreciate them.

I am sorry you are having to go through this, Elizabeth.  It is so hard to have to "parent" your parents.  I have been in the home health care field for many years so have walked this walk with many.  It is never easy.  Take care of yourself.
