Pre-op cardiology clearance

I have Kaiser, and during my pre-op medical clearance, they have made me do two EKGs, a nuclear stress test, and a heart scan. Now they want me to meet with the cardiologist. I was told that the results were normal last week, but today they called me with the appointment, so i'm confused.

Is this normal? I'm getting a little freaked out that something's wrong and even more freaked out that there's a possibility of this keeping me from having surgery? Has anyone heard of people being denied for heart problems? (and just fyi - i've never been told I had any irregularities/abnormalities have no weird symptoms of anything being wrong but i've never had an EKG before this either....)

I've been working my butt off while I'm waiting for surgery and I've lost 63+ lbs since July and am really improving my health and fitness. I don't want this to stop me.

I am not really sure about your questions but my niece had to have a stress test. I had to have an EKG. I hope things go well with the cardiologist. Please keep us posted and Good luck.

Hi I don't have any answers for you I didn't have to have that tetst but i wanted to show you some support and I will be thinking about you, I would call and ask them about it, I would say you was told your test was normal so what exactly is the other appointment or test for exactly.  Never hurts to ask. good luck

Thanks for the support. The problem with Kaiser is that for now, the right hand doesn't appear to be communicating with the left....

Bariatrics ordered the tests, and told me it was fine. MY PCP ordered the cardiology appointment, but she told me it was because Bariatrics asked her to do it. Bariatrics denies this. It's almost comical, and neither can tell me if I'm fine.

At least I can cut out all the middleman and talk to the cardiologist himself. I'm hoping he has good news.

 If Bariatrics didn't request this appointment I wouldn't sweat it. No need to stress yourself out for no reason. But Its better to be safe then sorry this is a major surgery we are about to embark on and I for one would want to be 100 percent sure my ticker was in tip top shape before they cut into me.
