There's never anyone on this page..
Wow! You're lucky! You're way ahead of me! I'm getting really really antsy! LOL!! I think I'll start posting here so others will comment. But then, I don't have much to comment about yet, I like to hear about people that are getting ready to have surgery, to see how long things take to get the ball rollin'.
I am going thru Kaiser Fontana and my wait for surgery has been a long one. I got my referral from my doctor in Dec 2009. Then I waited to get my orientation class, which i got in March 2010. Started my 12 week class and graduated from it on Oct 4Th 2010. Got my consult for my doctor on Nov 17Th. I was thinking almost there WRONG. Pacific is so backed up I will not get my surgery until April 4Th 2011. So It took me about a year and a half to get where I am at today. I am not going to complain this has been a very eye opening journey. I have learned so much and know I am going into surgery with my eyes wide open. I used this time to make lots of lifestyle changes like good nutrition and exercise. By doing this I have gone down 20 pounds and feel in control of my life again. I do not let food rule my world anymore. This surgery is a wonderful tool and I plan on using it to the fullest. I think the wait was a god send kind of. It has allowed me to make good changes that had to be made, By fighting all my demons now I will have less to over come when my day comes. Enjoy your journey and just know it is going to happen. Now every Kaiser is different so you may not have to wait as long. Best of luck to you
Hi Kimberly I so agree with you when you say how eye opening this journey Kaiser Fontana has taken us on. I am currently waiting on my psych eval which is on the 30Th then we get to meet the surgeon my hubby and I started this journey together so we are doing this as a team and we were both lucky enough to be picked by Dr Fedorka so we will be having our surgeries our of St B. I am told the waiting time isn't as long as it is at Pacific. I bet you are glad to be close to the end of your journey though after a year and a half. Anyway good luck
