2nd anniversary coming up but.....

Hey gang,..,,.got a question:

I received my appt notice from Kaiser Richmond for my 2nd surgiversary check up in March.  I have been expecting it, of course; however, it specifically said the doctor had not ordred blood work.  I thought it was rather standard to have vitamins and such checked.  Anybody else have a surgiversary checkup without blood work check also?  Just wondering.  I have asked my Primary to order them; we'll see what happens.

Right you are to have your primary order it.  I would send them an e-mail and ask them if they forgot.  LOL  Congrats on your upcoming surgiversary, I'm so proud of all that you have accomplished in the 2 years, you look maaavvvaaalous!!!

Thanks Elizabeth for your kind words.  I just wish we lived closer to each other...I  value our friendship as well   I have met such great people during my journey.

Nancy - hey girlie!

If your PCP won't order them you can call down to Richmond and talk to Robin (shivers) she is usually the one who actually does all of the orders for labs down there. (If you email Dr. Park she kicks the email to Robin to actually make the orders.) I haven't heard of them not wanting to see your labs at your surgiversary check ups. I know personally the past three times I should have had labs on order they were forgotten - once I called down to Richmond they were remembered quickly.

So many patients to remember everything for we can fall through the cracks.

Count down to surgiversary for you!!  At Fremont we do not see the Surgeon they now have a DR in the Bariatric are for all follow ups after 6 mos.  She ordered my last labs, but did not order them all.  I called the receptionist and she had someone order them.  I also emailed Dr. O'Brien (Dr in Bariatric unit) and she said she was sorry she missed some of the labs.  Mu PCP had ordered some that the lab did not draw and they were duplicates of what Dr. O'Brien would have ordered.

Keep on working that tool!!  You are FABULOUS!!!

Hey Ms D...thanks for the imput!  it;s looking more and more like I should call Richmond and question the no-blood-work order.  I did notice in the confirmation notice that my appt is a 'group' meeting..so I assume I will be meeting with the case worker and probably the Nut; although, if I insisted, I could meet with the surgeon instead.  I'm more interested in my labs tho since I've changed vitamin products since a year ago. Just want to be sure I'm getting in enough.

And thanks for the compliment!!  You know the feeling is returned double!! ;-)
