Newbie from SF

 Hi all! I'm a 22-year-old graduate student in downtown SF hoping to have my surgery over spring break. I have my first visit with the surgeon a week from Wednesday (tomorrow) and I just wish I could go now. I am really anxious to get things started and see what's going to happen. I am hoping for the VSG, but, of course, I will talk to the surgeon and see what's what. 

I am looking for some friends in the SF area who had their surgery at UCSF...hoping to get some feedback on their pre-op testing and approval time and everything. 

I am also looking for some friends who are around my age (or a little older) who have had WLS...just curious as to how your processes went and how things are going now.

I hope to meet lots of you and hear about your stories and everything :)

Welcome Lindsay!  I can't help you with UCSF as I went thru Kaiser Richmond. BU****ch for Barb!  I'm sure she'll respond to you later today (she's at work) as she went thru UCSF.  I know she also attends a support group at John Muir Hospital.  I recommend you look into finding one for yourself...they are priceless as far as getting support and local information.
