San Francisco Support Groups????

 I live in SF and had surgery one week ago. Are there any support groups here other than the monthly ones offered by surgeons? Would love help finding other folks to share this journey with face to face, not just online.

Good Morning Julie and congrats on your surgery.  I hope you are feeling well and recovering nicely.

While we are not a full fledged support group I'd like to invite you to our Nor Cal Loser's luncheons and events.  We've grown from about 8 to our biggest luncheon last month of 40!  We have a lot of fun and laughs and are a  tremendous support for each other and a finer group of friends would be hard to find.  I have posted the information further down the Cali forum page.

I too had my surgery in SF at UCSF and have done wonderfully.

Please, by all means!  Join our wondrful 'little' group at our luncheon..such fun and ditto to all that Barb said...better people you will not find ^_^  We have some fun activities planned for this year...the more the merrier!

 Thanks so much Barb and Nancy. I would love to come but not sure I can make it to East Bay yet. You guys sound like a fun group...and 40 people wow!

I am in SF and weekends are all about my 6 and 9 year old's games and parties etc. I will do my best to make it out there. Maybe you will come into SF too?

Hey Julie..while we are adults who have had surgery...one of our gals from Fremont brings her 5 year old most times...and she has won over I bet everyone in the group ;-) Our lunch usually last from noon to 1:30ish...if you need to bring them..then do it!  Support people are also highly encouraged to attend...there at at least 3 guys who attend, mine and Barb's hubbies being 2 of them..and also the hubby of the gal above, from Fremont ^_^  We welcome EVERYONE!  So NO excuses..come join us ;-)

 Hi! I'm also looking for a support group, I'm completely brand new to the boards and I have my first surgical appointment in about a week. I am hoping to find some friends who are willing to share experiences with me, maybe in a mentoring sort of light? Who knows...But, I just thought I'd pop in and say HI! :)
