Anyone In Bay Area Interested in Susan Kormen 3-Day Walk?
Deborah,
I may be interested.
Right now I am committed to doing the Bay to Breakers with our Nor Cal Loser's group, and my husband and I are crewing on the Aids Lifecycle Ride in June, and we are supposed to be fundraising for that. Depending on what the fundraising committment is for the 3 day, I might like to give it a go as my mother passed away from the dreadful disease and I support the cause. My husband is unemployed so I just have to see if I can swing it.
Please keep me posted.
Hugs,
Barb

My son 26 who lives in Huntington Beach is going to be doing the Aids Lifecycle Ride. What does crewing entail? He is so excited and has been very busy preparing for this ride. As for the Susan G Komen walk I have been thinking about doing this also. If you find a group to walk with please let us know.
Sabryna,
I will be part of the crew for one of the rest stops that the riders stop by each day for water and food and we do a huge part to cheer on the riders too. I am really excited as one of our best friends is the Crew Captain. If you remind me, I will try to let you know which rest stop number we'll be at so you can tell your son.
Our group has decided on 7 theme days so each day we'll be dressing up and acting wild and crazy, all in good spirit and to keep our riders supported.
Can't wait.
Hugs,
Barb

You're going to be a rodie?!? That's awesome!!
I've signed up to ride ALC this June. I hadn't been on my bike in over 15 years till this fall...so we'll see how I do. I've been training, but I have a long way to go before the ride.
I'm in the Bay Area too!

Deborah, I don't know where you live. I have a friend in Antioch who has a crew that has done the walk for the last 10 years. I bet they would welcome you if you wanted to join them. I'm not sure which city they are walking in this year. They roam the country doing different walks to keep it live.
I crewed for the 3 day walk back in 2001. It was a great experience.
