Good morning all,

Well I am just over a week Post-Op from my reversal and revision and everything seems to being going well. No real pain really to speak of except from the area where the G-Tube is placed. I am able to move around pretty good and have gone on a cple short walks to try to keep everything moving (not working to well LOL).

Still on a full liquid diet and have my first follow up tomorrow with the surgeon and im hoping I can start eating soft foods afterwards but will see.

Have agreat day all...........Rick

How fascinating. What do they think the VSG will do for you that the RnY didn't?

Really wasnt a choice thing. I developed severe Hypo-glycemia with the RnY and it had to be reversed. I asked the doctor if there was a procedure that could be put in its place and the only option was the VSG. I have had several friends that now have the VSG and have done real well so I agreed to have this procedure.

 Hi Rick,
I went to Dr, Suh's Seminar tonight and he touched base on the 2 reversals he has done and when he said one was a gentleman with reactive Hypoglycemia I wondered if he was talking about you. I wanted to ask you if prior to the surgery you were diagnosed Diabetic? I am just wondering if this is something my hubby or I should worry about. I see a lot of people on this site with RH.
Anyway Good Luck with your Sleeve.
Good Luck, Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Yeah I am one of the two people and the only with reactive Hypo-Glycemia.......Of course I have to be the oddity LOL.

I was never diagnosed as a diabetic. Matter of fact, I was so obese that my doctor was on that every 4 months. I never had an issue with my glucose levels prior to surgery and was kind of a shock when this diagnosis came down. They are finding out now that people that are super morbidly obese (I mean way up there) run an increase chance of developing this although it iis still very rare. I started this journey at 476 pounds and a BMI over 60 so I was one of those that ran the risk.

In most cases, with people that develop this condition, the body will adjust to the changes fairly quickly and all will be well. But again I had to be the strange one.

Anyway, we have one of the best surgeons in California and will take great care of you and your husband as many here will attest to. I certainly trust him with my life.

Have a great day..............Rick
