Good Morning Calif....

Its friday and the weekend is with in site.  So close one can almost see it. I am off this weekend, but I have agreed to work tomorrow. I spent the last few days cooking peanut brittle for people at work that order it. I cooked over a 20 batches. I am so tried of making it, I hope I have made enough and that NO ONE else order anymore. LOL
 
So yesterday DD had an appointment with a Social Worker for in home care. She will a person come twice a week and hepl her out but cleaning and cooking, do her laundry and stuff like that. They will also help by taking her to some of her appointments. This will be a great help to us both. After working 12 hours, 3 and 4 days in a row, I don't feel like doing anything. And nether does DD. So after working all day, I have to come home and clean up after her. Before any one says anything. Trust me, her not helping out around here, has been the topic of many fights.  I am hoping this will stop some of them.

I am glad to hear you are getting some help with DD.  I know how it is with my parents (that is why I try to go down every other month to help my brother and sister out).

It is raining here in Napa.  Oh well I am inside most of the day.  Have to drive down south to my parents after work.  It will be a long day.  Got in the office at 7 and will get to mom and dad's around 9.  At least I will get to have lunch with my sweetie (DH).  We plan on meeting and then I am on the road again!

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,

Lu so glad to hear help is on the way.  Being a care giver can be overwhelming and then along with trying to work and have a life too.  DD is lucky to have you. I am an only child and the responsibility to take care of my Mom was mine until she passed away in 2001.  I miss my folks so much, especially during the holidays.  Thank the good Lord, I have Ron or I would have never have made it through or continue to keep moving along, he's a blessing.

Speaking of blessings, my Mother-in-Law and Step Mom have been blessings in getting ready for party weekend.  We made 6 different kinds of cookies and today we'll be making hors d'ouvres and getting the house ready for 50+ family members coming from all parts of CA and several states beyond.  I have school tonight and all day tomorrow so they will be cooking a turkey and ham and setting stuff out for the party.  I should be home from school about 1/2 hr before the guest arrive.  When it rains it pours.  Then Sunday my neighbor and I host our 5th annual cookie/ornament exchange.  Busy weekend.  Then I poop out on Monday and go back to work.

What a beautiful day we have here in Merced. It was supposed to be foggy but it if it was it has burned off already.

LU, I am happy you are getting help for DD too. You work so hard this will help with the stress.

Dolores, you drive carefully today and have a nice lunch with your DH.

Wow Barb, you have a busy weekend planned. I hope you have tons of fun.

Today I am cleaning house and getting ready for my Red Hat Christmas Pary tomorrow. We are having a potluck. I am not sure how many women are coming. We are doing an ornament exchange. I need to go and get my friends 4 ft table to set up in my living room next to the tree. Yesterday we went to Manteca to a PJ Party. We had fun. It was a brunch. After that Tillie and I went shopping in Modesto. We went to the Burlington Coat Factory and I got a 4 in 1 winter jacket. It is really warm and I can take the insides out if I want to. I got it for $59.99. I thought it was really good price. I needed a good winter jacket.

Lu, I'm glad to hear some help is coming for DD, which in turn will help you.  But it will also just give her an excuse to do even less then she's doing now.  It's good and it's bad.  But as I said, it will help you and that is what counts.

Um, Lu, Peanut Brittle.  If you can't make me some then you have to finally give me the recipe.  PLEASE.  I'll give you a hug and kiss if you do.  I'd love to make some and send/take it back east.  They would all love it.

OK, nothing much planned here for the weekend.  I think we are going to go see the new Narnia movie.  I've been looking forward to that.  Other then that, not much planned.  Just a lazy weekend I'm guessing.
