Good Morning Manic Monday....

When I type that Monday Morning, I want to start singing. And trust me, when I say this, its a good thing you all can't hear me. Because to me, I sound great, but to the dogs, I sound like a something scary, cuz they start whinning and trying to dig a hole to hid in. LOL

Welcome to the first day of the week. WOW this year is flying by, I can't beleave that Thanksgiving is already here. I work today, and Wednesday then I am off for four days.
I guess I am heading over to my friends house the day to give thanks, but she has not talked to me in 4 days. She gets that way sometimes, hids for a week or so, then just starts calling like nothing has changed, I have learned to just go with the flow with her. So I will see what happens. If I don't hear from her, I will head over to my other friends house and spend the day with Steph. Watch out girl!!

So what are you plans for the Thursday. I have heard of people having 3 places to go to dinner on. UGH!!! just the thought makes me sick. Has any one started/finished thier Christmas shopping? I have yet to even THINK about shopping. LOL. So I guess I am bit behind. But never fear it will get done.

For those of you that wanted to know what I want. Its STILL a pony. I have been wanting onee since I was 11-ish and mom and dad got me a horse. Yes, I know they thought a horse would be better, but now I have to go though life feeling like I am missing something, and I think its that dang pony.

Oh, time to get into the shower and start my day. I wish you all a great day. Be safe in all you do.

Morning Lu and Cali,

Well I am off on the road again today to Napa.  Then back home Wednesday afternoon and on the road to So Cal.  I am so happy  to get to see my parents.  Gonna see my Grandma too (she is 94 and lives in her own house still).  I really want to see her since my uncle died (she is taking it pretty hard).  I never know if she will be there the next time I go down south or not.  Remember to really visit and enjoy the people in your life you love (they just might not be there next time!!).

Well better get moving, have to get Ms V ready for school and pack up my car.  Everyone have a great day!  Gobble gobble!!

Good Morning Lu and Cali Friends,

Lu, sounds like you're going to have a great Thanksgiving and a nice short week to go with it.

We're heading across the street to our neighbor's house for Thanksgiving which will be really nice.  We'll bring stuffing and sweet potatoes so yesterday I ran to the store to get all that I will need to make both.

I do shop-til-we drop day on Friday, which my girlfriend and I have been doing for the last 10 years.  We don't start at the crack of dawn though, we begin about 11a.m. and then do lunch and get done around 6 p.m. and rally with the husbands for dinner.

Then this weekend will start the inside decorating and hope to be done with that by Sunday as the following week we'll do the outside to get ready for the Nor Cal Loser's Potluck.

So it's a busy week at our house but we love it.

Hope everyone has a great week and Thanksgiving too.

Hugs,
Barb

 Good Morning Lu  & Cali

Well, all I can say to your pony wishes, is good luck.  I never got a pony as a child either.  We had cows, pigs, goats, chickens, turkeys, sheep & horses.  But, never a pony.

It is starting to look alot like Christmas in my house.  My kids and hubby bought me villages last year for Christmas.  I have always wanted to have a Christmas Village.  This is the 1st year and of course it is small as I am starting out.  Just wish my house was bigger.  For now, it is placed on both areas around my fireplace in the den and it looks nice.  Maybe i'll take a picture and post them later.  Last night and this morning is a little soreness w/some pain due to all the bending I did yesterday, but if I don't get myself moving, I don't think I will ever get to feeling better.

Today I am already up and headed to the office.  (No I am not released to work yet, I see the surgeon on Wednesday).  Payroll needs to get done and A/P payments by credit card.  Then I am off until next week provided the surgeon releases me on Wednesday.

Finally received my disability check Saturday and I made a mad dash to the bank - LOL    So nice to have my own $$ to pay for my bills.  Hubby and I do things differently than most people, but it works for us with no arguments for $$.

As for Thanksgiving, I will be cooking, hubby will be hanging lights on the house and the kids and their BF / GF will be here with us for a while.  Later, hubby & I may go to Hunt. Bch. to see his mother who is here from Hemet to visit and have pie with her.

This time of year is very nice, yet somewhat depressing for me.  All of my family (mom, dad, bros, sisters, cousins, ……) are all in New Mexico.  Last time and the only time I have been home to NM for the holidays was about 15 years ago.  Christmas at my home with hubby & kids is nice, but it does not even come close to what I grew up with.  There were 21 grandkids, parents, grandparents sitting around the tree to open gifts, eat, sing, drink and be merry.  Someday I will have my own grandchildren and things will liven up around here.  It really sucks not having little ones around but in time.

As for Christmas shopping, I have started a couple of things but still need to get out and do some major shopping.  Hoping that I can do that tomorrow & Wed..  Hubby wants me to on Black Friday extra early (Esta loco, extra early - LOL).  We shall see.

Ok, need to get a cup of coffee and head out the door.

Wishing you all a very happy Manic Monday.  May you all be blessed with love and laughter.

Good morning Lu and the rest of California,

Well, Lu, I hope she doesn't call you and then you can come have Thanksgiving with us instead. If I beg really hard will you just come anyway.  PLEASE.  OK I'm done begging.  I'll just have to wait it out.

Finally decided with the cooking host of Thanksgiving what I will be bringing.  I'm doing my sweet potato casserole dish and teriyaki green beans.  The green beans are to die for.  They are just soooooo good.  Our hosts purchased a new BBQ Smoker this year and so they have decided to smoke the Turkey.  Now keep in mind they have never done this before so it should prove interesting to say the least.  They are telling me it takes an entire day to get the bird smoked.  I can't wait to see how it turns out. I believe one of the host's nieces is also bringing a ham.  It's all good to me.

I'm thinking no Black Friday for me.  I just hate the crowds.  I know you can get some good bargains, but I just don't have the patience for it.  Plus, there is no way I'm getting up before the crack of dawn to get on line to save a couple of bucks.  I have gotten some shopping done, but certainly not all of it.  I have almost everything ready to send back to Mike's family in MA.  Just have to wrap it all up and then ship it.  Just a couple more things to get for that.  As for what I'm getting my son and Mike, I have some idea's for both of them.  I just need to find the dollars to pay for it.  I may not be able to get you that pony this year Lu. Sorry.  Maybe next year. LOL

OK, time to get busy.  A nice short week of work and then four wonderful days off.  I'm loving it.  Have a great day everyone.

It sure is Monday once again. At least this week will be a short one for me. I'll be out of the office at noon this Wed and will be off until Dec 1st.

I remember the first year after WLS when Thanksgiving rolled around, I thought it was the end of the world. Almost 5 yrs out, never imagined how much one can eat! LOL

Good afternoon Lu and Cali friends!

It is Monday for sure. I can relate to your singing Lu, that is how I sing and get the same reactions from our dogs. My grandson put his hands over his ears and says, No! Stop singing!" My son laughs and says I should listen to him. LOL

I have gotten almost all of my shopping done. I won't hit the crowds on Friday either unless there is just something my DH wants to get.

We are going to Chris and Lisa's for Thanksgiving. Mike and Chee are coming from Roseville and Lisa's parents and brother and his family will be there. I am taking a ham, green beans, scalloped potato's, and stuffing. Wednesday is Mike's birthday and we are having pizza and ice cream cake. My baby will be 28!

Hey Lu, I always wanted a Chatty Cathy and never got one and it was a lot cheaper than a pony! My Santa was really cheap! LOL

I hope everyone is having a great day!
