Still on disability

 Hi Everyone,

Well, I went to see the surgeon on Tuesday and what a joke that turned out to be.  My appt. was scheduled for 9:30 and they probably would not be able to see me until about noon if I was lucky.  There was an emergency surgery scheduled that afternoon, so they called in all the afternoon appointments for the morning.  I tried to re-schedule for the Los Alamitos office but no opening until after Thanksgiving.  The next appt. in LB is Wed. before Thanksgiving, so I am still on disability.  Oh well.  Sure hope I get a check this weekend since I have not received any $$ since my last paycheck on 10/25.

My boss told me that he missed & needed me.  Now, I have gone in to the office a couple of days, but have done quite a bit of work from home on many spreadsheets, job audits, etc..  So far I have logged in 45 hours and that does not include the time for today or tomorrow.  All hours are logged and will be given to me in a separate check after I am officially released for work so as not to screw up my SDI.  This always seems to be the case when I am off for medical reasons.  The owners just can't manage without me.  On the other hand,  the owners leave for a 3 week china cruise and I don't NEED to contact them for anything, nada, zip, zero.  What's that tell ya.

Let me just say that I am feeling good, with some pulling from the mesh, but I suppose that is to be expected.  I still do not lift anything or vacuum.  I do my laundry by loading 1 item at a time.

So, today I go into the office, and find my boss playing solitaire, and the clerk playing on the internet.  See, they miss me and need me because I whip them into shape and get people working or send them home.  Seriously, WTF.

I am anxiously awaiting being released as I do love my job and the owners, but every job has it's downfalls and mine is the clerk.

Well, hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  It appears that we are expecting rain in So Cal sometime tomorrow evening.  Loving it.

I am glad you are feeling better Annette! It is strange you have not received a check yet. Have you called and check on it? Enjoy your time off now that you are feeling better.

I did call and a check was approved on the 17th.  Not sure if it mailed that day or yesterday but as of today, still no $$.

I am praying I receive it tomorrow as I have bills to pay, groceries & Thanksgiving dinner to buy.  We also want to knock out the big ticket items this weekend for Christmas and it would be wonderful to have my $$.     

We have been managing just fine because of a re-fi we did on the house allowing us not to have a payment for the month of Nov.  but December is right around the corner and our payment is due so I can't just play with my hubby's account like I have been doing.  

If all else fails, my employers will front me the $$ I am expecting.  If not I will just have them advance me cash on the 60 hours I have logged in while on disability.  Either way will work, but having the check will make life so much simpler.
