Support groups around Fontana

Hi my name is Lisa and my husband and I are both going through this Journey together. We have just started our Options Classes @ Kaiser last week and they told us we had to get into an approved support group. Our only problem is Ken can only go to groups Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Does anyone out there know of any groups for those days. I don't mind traveling as long as its not hours away.
                       Thanks for reading

Good Luck, Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Congrats to you and your husband on the decision to do this together. Have you decided on what surgical group you will be using? I know Kaiser used to give you an option. Most surgical groups have their own support groups that meet at different times and days.

Have a great day..........Rick

Hi Rick
Thank you for responding, Kaiser uses pacific bariatric in San Diego. They don't give a choice and the hospital's support group is full so we are pretty much on our own so to speak.
and it is a mandatory requirement. We have our next class on Wednesday I will ask them there.
Also I wanted to say good luck to you on your pending surgery's.
Thanks Again
Good Luck, Lisa

I've attended several support groups put on by different places, and was NEVER told I could not attend because they were "full".  The groups I noted last night on another forum in regards to your post will not tell you that you cannot attend.  Many times, new chairs are added to the meeting room to accomodate late arrivals to the meetings.  DAVE

Thank u for your help Dave. The major problem we are having is that Ken works 7pm to 7 am Sunday thru Wednesday. I am not sure what we are going to do. They make these Support meetings Mandatory but then they say OH YEAH but you cant attend our group beause it is over full. I am going to talk to the people in charge of the options class tomorrow and see if they have any suggestions for us on this issue. Last week I read a post from a gal saying that a Kaiser in OC had a class on Saturday and I replied but she never responded. I think I will go back and write her again. I really appreciate your help. Thank you so much.
Good Luck, Lisa

Have you tried the pacific bariatric website?  They have a list of meetings that may be close to your area.  I know there is on in SB but it's on wednesdays so that is probably of no help.  anyways, good luck

Have you checked with Riverside - Van Buren.   I thought they had a support group.   I will check with my husband as I think he said that there might be one in an assisted living facility on Saturday in Riverside (one of the employees had surgery) but he might have gotten it wrong.
