Getting back on track!
I had my surgery on 5/30/05 and went from my biggest point at 460 down to my lowest point at 276, I am now 302. I realize I need to do something to get the ball rolling again, so I just got off of the 5 day pouch test and am trying to get ahold of my life again. I guess I am just looking for support and suggestions to get me going again. People see me and do not even realize that I had gastric bypass unless they knew me before surgery. I am down quite a ways, but up from my lowest point. All in all not bad for 5 1/2 years out, but I want the scale to move down not up. So I am jumping back into OH and just looking for support from fellow people that know and understand what I am going through. Thanks in advance for all your help!
Melissa,
Congrats on what you've accomplished thus far. Life continues to be a journey and you have such a positive outlook on it, which I think is so important for most things.
As you are doing, get back to basics, come for support and surround yourself with people who understand. We're here for you and support your efforts 100%.
Hang in there and remember protein 75% (3 bites) and carb last (1 bite).
Hugs,
Barb
Hey Melissa -
First you have to remember where you came from. You have come a long way, 160 weight loss is not easy and considered very successful.
I know I am fairly new out, but I have a lot of close friends that have had WLS several years ago. They have always said go back to basics. If you can kick start with the liquid diet for two weeks. I know it will be hard but it will get you back on track again. Plus walk, walk, walk..
Good luck and keep us posted.
