Hey all

Hello all...

So I have been sleeping tons and I am starting to feel better. I have been sick since/before the Long Beach Marathon, and this Saturday I went back to the docs and told him Help!!!

After xrays, he came back with Asthma, intermittent with acute exacerbation. and Acute Bronchitis. Both of which I have not had a problem with in a long time. So he gave me nebulizer treatment in the office and sent me home with a new inhaler, prednisone z pack and new antibiotic and some cough stuff, which after on taste sits not being used. YUK!!!!!

I am feelling much better, but just want to sleep. I am hope all this stuff will kick in and I will be back to my self. Soon.

Oh my Lu Lu, I feel your pain.  Oh boy do I feel your pain.  Z pack of Preds for me.  I'm starting my second pack tomorrow.  Did it for a week and felt better and within a couple of days, it all started all over again.  Inhaled steroids as well.  I don't know if the crazy weather has anything to do with it or what.  I'm going to have to go back on the antibiotics I think also because my sinuses swelled up again too.  I think it's the weather.  YUCK.

Anyway, you feel better and then I promise I will too.  BTW...my kitties are all getting sick, one after another too.  It's craziness.

Hi Lu - Sorry you've not been feeling well, but glad you're getting fixed up! Sorry your inhaler tastes horrible too... but if it helps you gotta suck it up!

You guys need to take care of yourselves. Ye****hat means taking your meds even if they do taste bad! Now listen to your old mommy! I hope both of you start to feel better soon!

I went to Fresno today. I thought I was having a stress test but I just had an appointment with the cardiologist. I will have the stress test on the 24th. It is just routine. Heart Disease runs very strong on my Mother's side of the family and I just want to stay on top of everything. At least I got to do some shopping while I was there.

Trying to take care Elizabeth.  I'm just so sick and tired of all this medicine.  The side effects from the steroids are often worse, but the COPD just isn't responding to anything but that.  Frustrating to say the least.

BTW...tried the peanut butter with my kitties.  Didn't work.  They started gagging as soon as the meds got into their mouths.  Mike is taking a couple of them to another vet tomorrow who said she won't charge as much and will give us a different medicine.  The appointment and the medicine will be less then the other vet wanted for the replacement meds.  I just want all my babies to get better.  They are all just so miserable right now and want to go outside, but we won't let them.

Oh well, hope you're having a nice evening.  Stay warm.  It's getting cold outside down here.

I know I had to take steriods once and I hope I never have to again. I did not realize you had COPD. I know that is a battle just by itself! Get better soon. My dogs love the peanut butter. Dogs must do better with it. It sounds like you guys are really have a rough time right  now. It is getting cold here too. I am ready for it though. I am always ready when it is time for the weather to change. I must admit that I hate the extremes either way though. Keep me posted on you and the kitties health. Hang in there!

I've always had bad allergies and asthma.  Just, as I've gotten older the asthma has progressed to it's next stage which for me is COPD.  I have periods where I'm fine and then the weather changes and it gets all jacked up again.  And let's not even talk about how expensive the medicine is.  It's insane. And I  HATE being on the steroids, but it's the only thing when it goes out of control that gives me relief.  Just got to keep on pushing through I guess.  I beat cancer, Elizabeth, I can sure as heck beat this and not let it get me down.

As for all my babies...well Mike took Snowball to a new vet today.  He was in worse shape today then Minky.  New vet gave us enough meds for like 9 cats for a month with a script to order more through 1800petmeds if we need to in case she's not around.  Then she gave us the best advice I'd ever heard.  To get the medicine into them, combine it with Turkey Baby Food.  The cats just go crazy for it and it's a heck of lot cheaper as the vet said then many other ways of getting it into them.  She said they will absolutely eat it with the medicine in it.  She even had some in the office and showed Mike that it really does work.  So it's a big supply of Gerber's at my house. As long as they all get better including all the ones that live outside.  Mike calls me the crazy cat lady from the Simpsons. I take better care of all those cats then I do of myself.

See I knew you were one of my OH Heros for more than one reason! I think the turkey baby food would be a lot better for the kitties than peanut butter. I know we take better care of our dogs than we do of ourselves. They even sleep with us. They are our babies. I took Gracie to Petsmart today for grooming and they did such a good job. She is just beautiful. She was a little mad at me for leaving her though. I think she has finally forgiven me now.

My neighbors had a crazy cat lady. They really had a problem with ferral cats. The lady is in a rest home now but her house sits empty. It smells so bad it will need to be torn down and a  new house built. It is in a really nice part of town. My friend would help her feed the cats and adopted a couple of them. It just shows that you have a very good heart!

Sure hope you're feeling better soon.  Take all your meds and get better for the holidays.

Thanks Barb.  I'm doing my best.  Have to get better for the holidays, I have too many things planned.  Although, I don't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner this year and I am so stoked about that one.  I'll bake a pie or two and let someone else do the rest.
