I am going to have surgery with Dr. Keshishian and was wondering if anyone could tell me the most economical hotel/motels?  Do I need to stay in Burbank, Glendale, Delano, where?  I will have a rental car so any direction will be good.  Flying from Florida so need to try to plan ahead and try not to spend one months salary on hotel.  Any help and all help appreciated.  Thank you...

I normally use Hotels.com whenever I need a hotel in any location.  You can sort by location, by price, by ratings, etc.

If you see one you like, check the website for the hotel to make sure you're getting a good deal.  Sometimes the hotel website may have a better promotion.

I believe there is a Days Inn in Glendale that does weekly and monthly rates.

If you are having surgery in Glendale you certainly don't want to stay in Delano.  The opposite is also true, if you are having surgery in Delano then you don't want to stay in Glendale.  Delano and Glendale are 2 1/2 - 3 hours apart.  That is a very long drive when you have just had a major surgery.

You can call his office for hotel/motel recommendations.  You can also check on the DS board because there have been a few discussions about this just recently.  Somebody listed some lodging options just a couple of days ago that looked like it had some good suggestions on it.

The hospital should have a list of places that give a discount because you are using the hospital. Good Luck.

Have you asked your surgeon about this??  If the surgeon has patients fly in often, I'd imagine he has a referral list of hotels, motels, rental cars, etc. for his patients.  The office may even be able to get some discounts. I'd call their office on Monday, and ask them. DAVE

Just an update.  I asked the surgeon - no help.
I asked the hospital - no help.
I guess this trek is all on me.  I did locate a place called Good Nite Inn in Sylmar which is about 22 min. drive according to yahoo.  Any suggestions?

Nice customer help from both your surgeon and hospital.  Good luck in locating a facility that is clean, easy to reach, is close to the hospital (in case of issues), one with decent rates, etc.  Customer service sucks these days.  DAVE
