Half Year Mark
I had my surgery April 16th 2010. My heaviest weight was 313 pounds. I was happy and other then the weight I was healthy (speaking on terms of blood pressure, cholesterol, Blood sugars, no diebeties, no sleep apnea).
I am a member of Kaiser (So.Cal) I love my insurance, they recommended the surgery and the sleeve.
Durring options I lost 41 pounds, and while waiting for surgery I drop 14 more pounds bringing my weight loss before surgery to 55 pounds. Now since surgery, I am down to a 90 pound loss in total.
I weight in at 223, I wear anything from a size 18-24 depending on the cut of the pants/skirt
My tops are anything from a Large to an Extra Large.
Offically I can claim to no longer in the plus size departments. And I have learned that "Plus size" Stores are miss leading in their sizes to make "me" feel better about shopping. I can no longer wear ANYTHING from The Avenue or Lane Bryant. Even thought their size's equal that of a size 14.... Bull **** So just how big was I?
According to them I was a size 30 pants 3/4x top. Now according to Target, I am a 16ish mostly 18ish size. So I hate shopping....
The big shocker my bra size... has only changed in the #'s not the cup size. My hubby is thankful, I was really hoping for some decreasment. So since losing weight in my upper back I am down from a 50 to a 42 (around) in bra's the Double Digits are still there.
I am very happy in my weight loss, my doctor tried to tell me I needed to lose it faster, and I informed her I didnt gain all this weight over night how could they expect me to lose it all over night. We chatted about my goals and how I wanted to get there.
We came to a balanced conclusion she likes my weight loss as LONG as I LOVE my weight loss. And frankly I do. My sleeve keeps me from "GORGING" food, I have lost a lot of my cravings for food. I can do a hell of a lot more things.
And, I changed my goal weight. I dont look like I am 223 pounds. Many people including my doc swear the scale is lying when they look at me. So I upped my goal weight (just not done it on my ticker yet). If I dont like it I will keep losing.
I still cant eat a lot of red meat, but I make do with getting all of my protein in. My hair loss is nothing shocking cause I was losing it while in options and its just been falling out. THANKFULLY I hate very thick hair and I always wear it short so its unnoticeable.
Thanks to everyone here who has helped me and answered all my questions.
