Well its official.....Reversal and Revision
Greetings all,
Well is is official, I have to have my RnY Bypass surgery reversed. The good news is I will have a revision as well. They say my body just cannot handle the mal absorption associated with the RNY and thus the reason I have become Hypo-Glycemic. Surgeon has decided to to revise the RnY to a VSG and I am very comfortable with the decision. At least I still have a chance to reache my ultimate weightloss goal and the VSG solves the absorption issues.
Surgery is being rushed for approval and should be done within the next 10 to 14 days. Little nervous but at least I know what to expect this time around........Does this mean I get a second birthday????
Have a great day all........Rick
P.S.
Before I get hammered by the DS'ers again, this procedure was chosen because of a medical condition and not as a choice of procedures

Rick,
I am so sorry to hear that you need to go through surgery again but glad that they are finally going to resolve your issues. The sleeve is probably an excellent choice for you and I'm sure you will reach your goal with it.
The mental part of any WLS is the biggest part of all of this, no matter which surgery one chooses. You have been so courageous through everything that has been going on with you that I know this little blip will not get you down. It will just make you stronger for what lies ahead. And I believe what lies ahead for you is only success.
Keep us posted on when the surgery is going to be.
Stephanie

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they
ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone...... I am not concerned about the surgery (except for the typical going under anestesia etc) because of all the mile stones I have accomplished over the last 20 months. I am much more stronger and healthier since the first procedure and have all the confidence in the world with my surgeon.
I am trying to keep a positive attitude with this set back but as we all know, everyone's bodies are different and react to things differently. And besides, everyone that knows me, I can be difficult with a lot of things I do.
Have a great day all........Rick

It will be rough at first but I do think you're going to do just fine. Make sure you let us all know when your surgery date is scheduled!!!
