yea they have a lot of kaiser people going there  but it still not as long as west LA or harbor city kaisers.  I had other things I had to do before surgery that the surgeon wanted me to do first that is way it taking me as long as it has.  so if you are good to go after your 3 appointments it takes 21 day for them to get back to you not else you have to do your looking that it will be late January or early Feb.

have you gone to the seminar yea ?

I really don't know how they select patients, but I had my RNY with Crown Surgery of Corona. This is a private outside surgical group that Kaiser refers some patients to. I know they still do this, as there are always Kaiser pateints in our support groups.  I do also know that my surgeon at Crown will not do surgeries on patients who haven't started their process by age 60, having surgery by age 61 at the latest.  Anybody older will usually end up in San Diego.  Wait depends on demand for the surgery when you've finished your classes, etc.  DAVE

Thank you everyone for all of your input. I have done everything needed the classes, all the tests and attended a support group and the seminar. Just want this to happen, I started this whole process last Dec. I know I will be going to San Diego for sure. After I finished all of my classes I was told the wait could be anywhere from two to four months till surgery. They said my doctor had till the end of Nov to sign off for my surgery. Then I would get my 3 in 1 and a date set, but if they are already booking for Jan Feb I wont get in till April. Well I guess I better just sit back and enjoy the ride. Better late then never.

I completed my Options classes in Orange County on June 25, 2007 and had surgery on August 10, 2007.  However, I know that there is a waiting list at this time so give it some time.
I had Dr. Zorn from Pacific Bariatrics and had my surgery at Scripps Mercy in San Diego.  Pacific Bariatric doctors and staff as well as Scripps Mercy nurses and staff are great.
Wishing you the best on your upcoming weight loss surgery (WLS) journey.

It sure is good C'ING LESS OF ME!

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they

ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

I am very anxious to complete the process. I finished my option classes  the end of Sept. I was at the city of industry location for them and submited all paperwork all I am waiting for is Tracy I believe her name is to return from vacation (sigh) this week and she can give the final stamp on my approval. They are supposed to contact me within 5 days afterwards to set up a appointment when I can see the surgeon/nutritionist/Psyc. I was hoping to get this completed by the end of the year. I am requesting the sleeve procedure. My doctor had referred me and I was surprised how quickly i was able to get in a class it may have to do with the urgency of health issues but I did get a response initally of early december for surgery when I started my classes I hope that holds true I do plan to go to Pacific Baractric as well.

I finished my class on Jan. 19th at Kaiser/ Fontana.  I had my surgery with Dr. Zorn at Pacific Bariatric on March 26th.  I had told them any date and any time was open to me.  Also leave yourself open to cancellations.  They fit people in for those also.  I had the type of job where I only needed a minutes notice.
The people at Pacific Bariatric and Scipps Hospital and their staff were all great!  From the date of my first class to the Surgery, ( of course I fell into the group that still had to go for 6 months, not the 12 weeks they do now) was one year.  But it was worth it.  Enjoy Thanksgiving & Christmas, probably will be the last food you will really enjoy for awhile.
I went shopping tonight with a friend who had surgery a month after mine, we had to laugh when we were looking at something and thought it looked to big!  who would have thought in 6 months time to go from a size 22 to a size 8!  You will get there..
