9 days post op
Hi everyone..
Thank you all for all of your support!
I would have done this days earlier, but I have had trouble sitting in a chair for more than about 5 minutes, if that. Since I am short and there is not a lot of room from my surgery incisions and my hips... it is just not too comfortable to sit...lol but better every day.
I am the one who watching everyone else post about stage 2 foods, and thought to myself..."cake walk..." sorry for the analogy words... anyway... back to the thought.
After I finally gave up drinking the liquid codine, ick... hated the sweet taste...! That cut down on all the sweet options to eat. I have found that I prefer a savory flavor than sweet right now. Applesauce still is OK, and refreshing, thank goodness. Tired of Greek yogurt, have to splenda it up to get it down.
My cottage cheese option is great, however it is out of date... now and need ride to the store... to replace! Soups are ok... but I am so wanting to chew something... and afraid to do so until next Wednesday when I have my post op apt.
I made the mistake of dipping into my granddaughters canned ravioli sauce. One spoonful, actually maybe one more time,,, and later... cleaned my clock. I did not eat the pasta... just the sauce... boy, I am not doing that again.
Premier protein is my protein right now... and I am getting 1 of them down a day so far.
Water sips... I forget... and have to make myself drink more. I have been eating sf Popsicles the skinny ones... I can eat one, and that is it... for hours.
I never in my life, thought that I would be full eating a couple of tablespoons of stuff... but I am.
Getting my pills down in the morning is doing OK. but I am having trouble getting the b complex, I have to set a reminder... I just forget.
Actigall works better if I open the capsule and sprinkle it into pudding... the capsule is too long and gets stuck...
Sleeping sitting propped up sucks. I tried once, to lay on my stomach, OUCH, turned over so quick it was not funny. Will this ever change?
I gained 9 pounds of water from the IV. and dropped that in 4 days... all in all now since surgery weight was 177 (2 below target) and now I weigh 170.2
Well that is all... can't sit any longer!

Kristen, Glad to hear that you are doing relatively well. You are doing much better than I am. Yes, you will be able roll over on your side or stomach.
I am slowly improving, but am having a difficult time getting in enough fluids and protein . Most of the protein drinks make me gag, but Pure Protein seemed to go down well this am, and no nausea yet. SF popsicles are my friend and help to get some fluids in.
My weight loss has been rapid, due to the hospital stay and being ill. Can't believe I am down so much in just six weeks. Not a healthy way to do it, but the doctor didn't seem concerned. Does anything ever concern them? LOL.
