First time with a cold after Roux-en-Y

I went to the E.R. Thursday night for them to tell me "it's just a viral infection".  Whatever, I have an appointment Monday with my PCP anyways. 

Sooo... I'm coughing ALOT and it feels like freddy kruger is having too much fun with my throat.  I have no voice now and when I CAN talk it sounds like freddy himself.  Been drinking decaf tea with lemon slice in it.  I dont know of anything over the counter I can take besides straight tylenol.  HELP!!

I am sorry you are sick. When I have had a cold with sore throat I have just toughed it out. I wish I had some advice for you but I don't. Hopefully your PCP will be able to help you. Take care.

Yeah, E.R gave me some liquid tylenol for the fever at least.  I had a fever last night of 101.8 it's back to 99 this morning but I'm tired of not being able to talk without pain..everyone KNOWS I can't talk so of course they need something of an essay response to any question they ask me LOL

There was a post a few days ago (it may have been a week ago) on the RNY board about what you can take for colds.

I remember one of the things was sugar free Robitussin (sp?).
