John Muir Concord Campus
Hi All, I am fairly new to the site, only been here for a couple of months and I have been looking for anyone who has gone through the John Muir Bariactric Program. I am getting close to getting a surgery date and am looking for anyone who has gone through it. I would love any input you have and appreciate your time. Have a good one!
I had my surgery there 7 years ago. The after care you receive is great. Anne & Dolora are so caring and thorough with everything. This Sat. is our monthly support group from 10 - 12, it is a great place to get all your questions answered. I still go almost every month, have been going for 7 1/2 years and have only missed 5 meetings. I still get support & sometimes hear things that I had forgotten about that make me stop & think again.
Hope to see you at the meeting Sat.

Hi there and welcome to the Cali Board. While I didn't have my surgery at John Muir I attend their support group meetings, although due to our Nor Cal Losers Apple Hill trip this weekend, I won't be at this one.
I was a sugery angel to two wonderful gals; Jenn and April who had their surgery at John Muir on the same day and became roomies together. They post now and then and I will ask them to look in on OH and post for you. They have both done an amazing job on their journey's and will be 2 years out next April.
We also have a group that meets for lunch and outings each month. We'll be at Coco's Concord in Nov and would love to have you join us. Bring a friend or family member if you're more comfortable but I guarantee you'll find the NICEST folks around who are willing to share their journies and lend support and friendship too. Look for my posting about Apple Hill and the Nov and Dec dates are there too. Hope you can join us.
Welcome again,
Barb

That sounds fantastic. I have been feeling a little alone up here, if that is even possible. I also have been looking for anyone that has gone through JM just to get a little input of their experience. I havent told many people about my journey, only a handful of family and very close friends and have gotten very mixed reviews. I am going through this for me, my health and my life and need some like minded people to chat to. Thank you for the invite and would love to come and join you!
I'm having my surgery through the John Muir Bariatric Progam. I was just approved for the sleeve (on appeal)! Anne Timberlake, the program coordinator is great and is extremely helpful! The program is thorough and has a post-surgery program - which some programs don't have. I'm very pleased with John Muir as a whole. They're one of the better hospitals in the region.
Hi there.
I had my surgery by Dr. Otero at John Muir 20 months ago. The program they offer is awesome. The support group is great. Anne has always gotten back to me in a timely manner when I have asked a question. I also work for John Muir, and work with Dr. *****uite a bit, and he is a very good surgeon. Any questions you have feel free to PM me. Good for you for doing this for yourself. It is such a big decision and a life changing one. It will all be here before you know it. Not sure if I will be at the support group on Saturday or not. Please come to one of the lunches we have. I see that Barb mentioned it to you. It is a great group of people, we have a clothing exchange and its wonderful to hang around people who have been through the same experience. Hopefully I will get to meet you soon, if not on Saturday, then in November at the next support grou*****rth Cal loser's lunch.
